Shouldn't you experience some boost loss with any intercooler?

If it sounds like a loud ass whistle, I'd say that's an upgrade! I mean, how many people can say they have that? ???

Re:GOT MY INTERCOOLER!!

I think it's the intercooler.
If it's a lot bigger then the probe one(never seen one) than it's just pressure drop from the big intercooler.

Sorry to hear you are having problems. 2.5 PSI pressure drop is a lot, I have never seen that kind of loss with one of these intercoolers, that, with the lag makes me think you have a restriction or a leak in your intercooler piping. Can you post pics of your setup so we can look for problems, some times a fresh perspective is all you need. What size piping are you running? What's it made from? Where is your boost guage hooked up? Are you geting a good reading? Does the car feel slower? You will experience a small amount of lag with a larger intercooler, just because there is more space to fill with compresed air, but it shouldnt be a lot. I know this is a dumb question but did you get all the packing material out of the inlet? I had a guy send one back once for a similar problem, only to find the inlet was packed full of shop rag, he admited he had put the rag in the inlet to keep the intercooler clean and forgot to take it out befor the install !

Re:GOT MY INTERCOOLER!!

ok ive been up since 8am(well thats early for me!) and i found the dam problem. one of the couplers had a tear in it.i guess i messed it up during the install. :'( i would of never found it but my brother in law saw where the bubles were coming from.we used the soapy water technique to find the leak. so after replaceing it my pressure is back up to normal.but i still have a bit more lag than usual(its not as bad as before though) i guess thats expected though since this sucker is huge.and really its not so bad. i did notice a large difference though in power it feels like i got a lot more torque, my head keeps swinging back in third and fourth now so it definately made a difference!. ill put up pics later!YIPEE!! it looks fucken sweett!

Re:GOT MY INTERCOOLER!!

I'm glad you figured out the problem. It only takes one little thing like that to cause a problem! It looks great on the car. I'd appreciate it if folks could send me pictures when they have them installed. I'd like to use them on the new web site (which I hope to have up and running in a couple of weeks). We're going to be offering a lot of things on the web site in addition to the FMIC's to help the budget-minded enthusiast turbocharge their cars in the most professional way possible. This is my one and only business and my 365-day a year job so I'll be there when needed and have the time to produce a quality product.

Again, I appreciate everyone's business. If anyone has questions about their FMIC's, don't hesitate to ask - and send those pictures!!!

Anthony
