Re:Got my cherry popped tonight!
is there some reason you dropped the trans then the block?
the 2 times i've had my sohc out i just pulled it out as one big unit.
Drained everything
Unplugged all the ----
Removed axles
Attached hoist
Removed mounts
Lifted motor
then disassembled out of the car; it was very easy
last time i pulled the motor my friend my little brother and my self had the bulk of the work done in < 2hrs. We didnt pull the motor because i forgot my chain but we had it sitting on the ground the next day in < 30 minutes

Wow looking at that mess I am so glad I bought my engine hoist. Engine and tranny out the top by myself very quickly. Chris you should buy or rent one to do the reinstall. Will save you time and is much safer.

Re:Got my cherry popped tonight!
Yeah definately. I'm going to rent one when the time comes just because I don't need one sitting around my house. It's about $30 a day and you really wouldn't need it anymore than that. But it's a buttload safer. Having one of those 3 jacks slip out and having the oil pan crammed into your face could ruin your whole day
