Got a fucking ticket in Wisconsin
So Saturday night at about 1:00 some friends and I decided to drive from Chicago to Minnesota for the bears vikings game which sucked. So anyway zero sleep and about 23 hours later on the way back I got a speeding ticket. 78 in a 65. Any suggestions on how to not get this put on my record. I really don't want my damn insurance to go up. The cop said they don't do supervision or traffic school or anything like that which we do in IL.

Re: Got a fucking ticket in Wisconsin
Tell the insurance company that the ticket was photoshopped by the police :6 Feel free to thank me later for this awesome advice

Re: Got a fucking ticket in Wisconsin
^^ yep
Not much you can do other than go to court and hope for the best, but I doubt you'd want to do that based on your location. Just pay it, nothing else you can do. |
Re: Got a fucking ticket in Wisconsin
I drove from ny to oh/mi/sc/tx a few times
got ticketed in oh, pa, nc, fl paid the tickets in nc and oh, didnt in pa and fl so far, nothing has come of it? no notices, no nothing... and i've been pulled over in pa since. |
Re: Got a fucking ticket in Wisconsin
So similar thing happend to me in NY and i live in VA, long story short i didnt pay it and they suspended my licese and let me know via mail. well NY suspended it not VA so when i called the DMV they said I was cool, just was not licensed to drive in NY nor could i apply for one in NY.
Might wanna look and see if the states Xfer DMV records back and forth, cause from what i was told by VA DMV if I just never paid it i just couldn't get a license in NY. Always the chance that DMV worker didnt know ---- from shinola but I just paid it none the less so ... |
Re: Got a fucking ticket in Wisconsin
yeah no traffic school or ---- like that, also the cop will NOT be at the court date. you can go to the court date and asked to get it reduced though.
my brother got an 82 in a 55 and got it reduced down to a broken speedo, just go to the part store, buy the vss/whatever and keep the receipt and then take it back. go to court w receipt and bill from mechanic buddy who "fixed it", and you should get it reduced or dropped altogether. i also got a 19 over in a 35 and got it reduced from 180+6points down to 160+0points, no points no worries |
Re: Got a fucking ticket in Wisconsin
Hmmm I did tell him I that I thought I was going like 69 and he flat out told me that if I had a letter from a mechanic it would probably get dropped. I'm not concerned about paying the ticket, its 180, but thats nothing compared to insurance going up.

Re: Got a fucking ticket in Wisconsin
you will go to court the date/time on the ticket, there will probally be 5-100 people (depending on where you got the ticket) and a court official will sit at a table and 1 by 1 you walk up and they tell you whats up/you tell your side/they drop ----/they ---- you harder. just be polite and have your paperwork.
oh and never wear a hat, that pisses them off royally when you do that |
Re: Got a fucking ticket in Wisconsin
Your insurance won't go up because it was in a different state and they don't transfer info. I got a ticket in Colorado and my insurance never knew about it. What I want to know is why you didn't drive 20 minutes from the Metro(sexual)Dome to bring me bacardi?

Re: Got a fucking ticket in Wisconsin
get a lawyer.
ive gotten out of 3 tickets that way. actually one was wreckless and endangerment which would have really fucked me. |

Hell I've had tickets in VA and my insurance company hasn't picked up on them and it's been 2+ years. If you go to court the judge will have mercy on you if you say you're falsely accused considering you drove from another state to see him. That is unless he has sand in his vagina. edit: I looked the points thing up.. I think it depends on if your two states share information. Some do, some don't. |
Re: Got a fucking ticket in Wisconsin
I know for a fact WI talks with other states' DMV departments and if your license is suspended anywhere else they will know.

Now I don't know which states communicate with which states, but they do communicate. How do I know? I had a ticket in Georgia in 2005. Never showed up because it was a long drive. Fast-forward to 2007. On the third time reinstating my license that year, they wouldn't let me because I had an outstanding ticket in Georgia. Why they let me reinstate my license a total of 3 times since the missed court date in Georgia I'm not sure. As far as insurance and points, I really don't know. Last year I accumulated over 24 traffic citations before losing count. Multiple tickets for speeding, no seatbelt, running a stop sign, switched tags, expired tags, revoked tags, driving while suspended, no insurance, etc. Somehow I never earned enough points to have my license taken. Somehow insurance only is aware of 6 citations. |

Re: Got a fucking ticket in Wisconsin
pretty much. ---- it its wisconsin. if you want, show up to court and ask for a continuence for dissmisal or whatever they always give me. i dont know how they do it there but usually if your record is decent you can talk to a hearing officer or some ----, hell sometimes they just drop it, im a pretty good fake lawyer though. got a 112 in a 65 dropped and a no insurance in the last yr or so, both i should have lost my Lic in MN

Re: Got a fucking ticket in Wisconsin
Jeeze I thought this was common knowlage. If you pay the ticket in time the state you offended in won't send the information to your state. If you pay the ticket within 30 days it won't go on your record.

It's funny how that ---- works...I moved from SC to GA in Jan. of 2000. I got my license transferred over to GA within the first week or so I was down here. Like a month of two later I get a letter from the SC DMV saying that my SC licensce had been suspended due to excessive points or some BS like that. I didn't sweat it because I already had a GA license. Fast forward to 2006. It's time for me to renew my GA driver's license. Well, I go to renew it and they won't BECAUSE OF A HOLD SC HAD ON MY LICENSE THERE. I was like WTF??!! It wound up being a hassle and I had to send like $200 to SC to have my license there reinstated...which made NO ------- SENSE seeing as how I didn't have a SC drivers license anymore. Just another ploy to get my ------' money IMO...I hate the DMV... |
Re: Got a fucking ticket in Wisconsin
75 in a 60 in Wyethville, VA, and I forgot to pay it. Just remembered it as I read this thread, actually. It's been about 5 years, guess I should avoid VA like the plague, right? :l
