Got engaged this weekend!

Don't worry though, I orded that LAST peice I needed to finish my HMT the day before I proposed, so I'm all set ;D It was fun though, I proposed in Chicago in the coolest park. You could see the whole city scape of chicago, Very nice...and she said yes w/o hesitating, so that was good.

cool man, congratulations. yeah, that's definitely a plus that she didn't have to think about it. unfortunately i didn't get to give my wife romantic proposal, we found out that she was pregnant and decide to get married, although we had a really nice/big wedding, i wish the whole proposal thing could have played out differently, especially since girls wait for that ---- for their whole life :-\

I knew she would say yes, so I wasn't even nervous, :) and almost alllll my friends are now married, so I asked Everyone of them wha they would have done different about it and sugestions, all that crap. O, and I didn't even see your post on "marital status" when I posted mine, otherwise I would have put it in yours, oopps. By the way, Im 22, 23 in a few weeks, and not planning on having kids for about 5 yrs, Lord willing!

I was thinking of proposing soon, but have been sweating a ring, 2k right now for a diamand ring seems a little steep on my budget. (an HMT budget for sure)

What did you do for a ring? Did you buy or make payments? if so what are the payments like?

I was thinking HMT ring, but I think my girl might not think a blowoff valve on a ring of tin foil might not scream I love you

---- man, my wife lost her first ring that i got for her (before we were married), and i was making payments on it, i didn't have insurance on it (------- idiot), so i had to buy another one, i paid cash for the second one, but i was still paying for the first one :'(

I was in about the same boat, my wife knew I was going to propose so it wasn't as special I guess. One thing I wish I could have done a little different :-\

Re:Got engaged this weekend!

Congrats to you. There comes a time in life when stability is very important. Now you have someone to help build a life upon. Houses, cars, family..... It's a different ballgame now, but definately a normal procedure in life.

I remember when I purposed to my wife, our son was about a year old. Her family was going on a 7 day cruise to mexico, and they said we could get a good deal if we went in on it, so we did.
Just the two of us took a tour around the city of Mazatlan. We were walking down the beach and she said something about "we only have such and such amount of time to go shopping before the bus leaves again". So I stopped right there on the beach and I told her she could have the whole rest of the trip shopping if she just promised me one thing.... and then down on the knee. I told her she could shop the rest of the day as long as she promised to spend the rest of her life with me.

Yeah yeah, sob story. Just sharing. ;)

Re:Got engaged this weekend!

I planned to do it sometime on the cruise, but I didn't know where, so I just carried the ring with me the whole time. It went better than I could have imagined, seeing since it was me trying to pull it off. ;D

I was just sharing. This isn't about me nukka. This is PA2PLAY's post. I think he's from Pennsylvania (PA), but now that he's getting married, he should change his name to "Pay2Play" cause he's about to find out what that's all about. hahaha :D (I had to) 8)

Re:Got engaged this weekend!

Actually, I paid for the ring in cash, $1900 big ones, OUCH! A little more than I planned, but it's freakin' nice! My boss has a friend who is a broker for a bunch of big diamond stores, so he hooked me up at 15% above wholesale. ;D It's worth like $3300, a WHOLE lot more than I would ever spend on a stupid rock that shines, I mean, how far is that ring gonna get you in life....now my civic, It can drive you all over the USA, much more practical. ;)

Re:Got engaged this weekend!

LOL I spent $5200 on my wifes because I got a little out of control and was swept up in the moment. Shes worth every penny though. Technically between that and her wedding band we are up to about $7k. You only live once! Now if I have $7k to put in my car that would be sweet!
