And i am purchasing an h22 to plop into the civic. and will be NA for about a year while im away at school, so i have a easy going daily driver.

title says goodbye, but dont worry, im not leaving u guys. im just going to be NA for awhile. but will soon enough be turbo again, dont worry.

if you are interesed in any of my parts off my other motor contact me through aim or someother place than this thread. ill have them posted somewhere eventually.

Who gives a ----?

Why do only newbs feel the need to announce their "leaving"?

I hope you die a horrible death and your family is there to see it.

Im not a honda guy, I dont own one, have never ridden in a turbo one, so if any cares to answer (which im sure no one will), why are the h series so frowned upon as opposed to the b or even d series?

well the thing is he's gonna be wastin alot of money puttin an h in a civic. putting it in a lude or accord would not be that bad as it'd be pretty useful. but keep it d or b in a civic.

remember, 10 pounds on a d will turn ya out! ;D

Re: Goodbye HMT! :(

H series are for people who plans to stay N/A without bolt ons or F1.
a b or d series will be a a better swap even for a Na car in my opinion
H22 200 bhp, you are stuck at that
b16a 170bhp countless potential
b16a2 160bhp countless potential
d16z6 125bhp countless potential
b18 145 I think
b18c 185
all countless potential. H series not much out there for it, and its really expensive to modify

Ravage70 02-28-2006 01:58 PM

Re: Goodbye HMT! :(

the reason why h22s are forwn upon for boost is because of the frm sleeves and the limited selection of pistons you can chose from

BRIOHATCH 02-28-2006 02:02 PM

Re: Goodbye HMT! :(

why would you think that anyone cared that you were "leaving" but not really going anywhere.....basicly you just made a post saying that you were gonna swap to an h series...and not turbo it......under the title "good bye hmt" u suck honda tech loves you though...so go there

SkunT 02-28-2006 03:49 PM

Re: Goodbye HMT! :(

an h22 EG is like ------ a fat chic. even if its good, its still a fat pig.

way to much weight for that chassis.

Thank you, very nice summation...
If I had to choose, it seems that the b16a is a good one... What is the most commonly occuring engine in hondas? Because that also would be a BIG factor (especially among HMT style projects)

I would definitely rather have an H22 over a B16 anyday.

its called gearing, has nothing to due with it being a b16 ::)

Re: Goodbye HMT! :(

actually the longer stroke motor revs slower, I was talking to college professor , that teaches a automotive course for central Texas college, and I was telling him about my ls/vtec buildup, and he told me that I will have a lot of low end torque because of the b18 stroke, but a b16 will own me at top end because it has a shorter stroke. thats why I'm keeping the b16 as a spare
