Default Good deal or no?

Ok so my original plans were to take the 12a turbo I have laying around and slap it on to the z6 that's in mah car. Saturday a guy I work with offered me his old LS (Block, head, and tranny only) that needs rings (Which is fine with me because I was planning on rebuilding anyhow) for 350 bucks... Is that a good deal or no?

Ok now he's saying no tranny, same price but now he's offering me this b16 he's rebuilding right now lol. No tranny as well. I sure hope this guy isnt stealing engines lol. He did say he would throw in the OEM new honda rings for the LS. whooopty doo. I guess I've got some research to do. Which one has cheaper gofast parts? :P

Yea i usually sell junkyard motors for $250-$300 and people buy them, thats with unknown milles or condition, and trannys can catch anywhere from $100-$300, sometiems more depending on what the demand is like...

Sounds like a good deal to me, if it is a B18b you could probably sell it for more than that to someone on HTand if its a hydro tran you can get a pretty penny too

Oh If you are boosting go for the LS, but B16 could be fun too

Ya I think I'm going to go with the LS because he wants WAY to much for the b16. He said 1K for the rebuilt b16 with no tranny lol. EffthatS. But ya I'm going to go ahead and get the LS and slap this td05-12a on there and see what I can come up with.

Ya, it's pretty much a longblock w/o the surrounding parts. So I don't even have a clue what that would be worth because I have no clue what all I would need as far as like surrounding parts. Distributor and ***** like that. Probably need a harness and all kinds of junk. I still may do it though just to build and see what I can come up with. Maybe find an ol' first gen teg and drop it in lol.

he's rapping you a new one. In my opinion. You can find a better deal out there. Check local car boards, I see LS complete swaps for that or maybe a little more with the tranny. but if you are happy that's what matters

What chassis is it going into? Yea $350 is a little much for just the motor, if it was a full swap w/o tranny...maybe it would be cool, but hell i get LS for dirt cheap the tranny was what was making it a deal
