A Good Article on HF Manifolds

This guy sells on eBay and I checked out his site. I thought this article was pretty informative.

Yeah some good info, however, today i purchased a manifold form a D16Y7 its comes on 1996 civics, but since its a d series block, then it will fit any other d block, and since the engines displacememnt is 1.6 liter then the exhaust ports of my d16a6 are the same size and shape as the manifold from the d16y7, so i actually prefer the manifold i have over the HF, since i dont have to do any grinding to size up the ports.

Thanks for your kind words regarding the article on the TunerToys website!

4thGen is right about the port shapes on the later manifolds, they are much closer to the D16A6 than those in the HF Manifold. There is a lot less port matching required for these later manifolds. The later manifolds come on the 92-95 Civic CX/VX cars.

Although Honda uses the same exhaust gasket from 96-00 Civics, I was under the asssumption that the 96 and newer were a one-piece design where the cat is a part of the exhaust manifold. (See Jeff's article - https://www.homemadeturbo.com/tech_p...s/HF_manifold/ for his take on this).

4thGen, did you have to cut apart the manifold/cat, or are they still a two piece deal like the 88-95 cars?

Thanks Guys!
