Re: Golfers, Fix my slice

bend your knees, keep level. dont swing back hard it doesnt help any, just makes your swing weaker keep the left arm straight. practice ;)

thats what i am saying, i do all of this, arm straight head down calm backswing

i make solid contact, like has that nice ping sound to hit when i tee off it justs slices violently at the end

Re: Golfers, Fix my slice

I think the problem is in your stroke. Grab your wood and get a better grip on the shaft. 8)

Re: Golfers, Fix my slice

just turn the face of the club a little more inward when you set your grip.

The only real kind of golfing is mini golf.

Re: Golfers, Fix my slice

Theirs nothing someone call tell you over the internet thats going to fix your slice. Your club face is open at impact causing you to slice, not hitting the ball off the "toe" of the club.

Re: Golfers, Fix my slice

sliceing the ball means your swing is inside to out and youre cutting across it. not good. you have to make sure your back swing and follow through on a perfectly straight line. try to exagerate a a outside to in swing and youll will hopefully staright hitting the ball a little more straight and maybe a nice draw. if that doesnt work try closing the club face a little

Re: Golfers, Fix my slice

try the following.

1- move the ball foward more in your stance, so that it is much closer to your front foot than your rear one. this will give the clubface more time to square up and ensure that it isnt slightly open when you make contact. if done well, it will actually result in a nice slight draw, which is the best for getting the ball to roll farthest once it hits the ground.

2- make sure that you are not comming from the outside and swinging inward on it, thereby coming across the back right to the front left of the ball. make sure you are drawing the clubhead back and then up when you bend your wrist rather parallel to the ball and the direction you want it to go. this will help make sure that when you are making contact with the ball, you are swinging straight through it.

try those 2 and see if one helps, also make sure you arent swinging to hard. you dont have to. make solid contact and let the club do the work, just keep your swing smooth and consistant. golf is all about strategic placement, and its much better to be a few yards shorter but in the better position.

Re: Golfers, Fix my slice

Put the ball a little farther up in your stance. Normally it should be played off your left heel (for right handed golfers), so play it more toward your tow. Also, don't try and rip the ball every time. This will turn your hips sooner and in effect open up the club face sooner. Most of all, be comfortable before you start your swing. I tend to lean back a little bit instead of being on the balls of my feet. This gives me more balance and a more consistent swing.

Best of luck, you'll need it ;D

ive only gone to the range once. haha i want to go back but no one to go with :'( . trying to kill the ball everytime doesnt help. ive noticed that. keep your eye on the ball at all times. make sure your left foot is parallel with the tee. dont bend your wrist ;). next MN meet at the driving range 8)

Re: Golfers, Fix my slice

i had a horrible slice and i fixed it buy leaning over the ball more (at the waste) and lineing my left arm strait up with my club and have the ball at your front foot all lined up strait it helped me, cuz when you bend over at the wast you shoot a fade witch is the oppisite of a slice the arm strait lines helps with mechanics let me know how that helps!!!!
hands

O--o------u lean over at waste

well i hope that helps and damn that took along time to draw on this keyboard

oh yeah thats going to be 100000 dollars for the golf lesson ;D

Re: Golfers, Fix my slice

Yeah its all in the stance and where your body is positioned in relation to the ball. i would also suggest moving your left foot back so that it will force your body to turn farther and your slice should go away.

0--------0 <--- From here

---0 <---- to kinda like that but not as drastic

Re: Golfers, Fix my slice

Stand alittle behind the ball. Keep your head down. I found out the reason I was doing it, is because I would pick my head up to soon.

TurbodEG 09-28-2005 11:22 AM

Re: Golfers, Fix my slice

yep the head thing. or if ur swingin to hard. you don't need to pound the ---- out of the ball. you'll never find ur swing that way. do it soft and easy at first. if you hit it right. the ball with go farther then the punded sliced ball would have.
