I just got back from talking to the "career planner" and they offered me this:

1. I can go to Mainland Japan.
2. I can take my wife, and our little doggie.
3. I cant get a different job, but if I stay in the job I have right now, they will give me a $6900 sign on bonus (before taxes)
4. and I will probably be in a non-deployable unit meaning I would stay in Japan.


dam, i scored huge.

the only part I dont like, if I re-enlist, they could possibly send my back to Iraq now.

Damn, I guess there is always a possibility they will not send you back. Still it looks like a good deal in the end, even if you have to wait another 7-10 months.
