going to dyno on fri

any pointers?

things to have ready ---- like that.

and the notoriously gay questions.

any ventures on what i might make?

first time tuning on a dyno.
i "tuned" the car at like 13psi on the street before.
it ran real good.

want to go for as much boost as it takes to max out my injectors.

set-up:
d16a6 engine (rebuilt head)
block posts
arp headstuds
cometic HG
76mm vitaras
h-beams
acl bearings
450 dsm blue tops
xeno 255lph pump
egay bluuuur mani
60 tirm t3 .48/.60
60mm TB
"the wheeze" intake manifold

more ------ quirks and problems then i know what to do with

Dont brake on the dyno, and dont let go of the wheel til the wheels stop turning. Both will result in failure. :y

I always have at least 2 sets of plugs with me.

would have taken too much of a loss, would not have been able to purchase another vehicle/motor with the money i would have made.

so i forked out some money and got it going again.

wow, good list.

i could break that down and i probally would have half of the ---- that he suggests.

do i really need to have an exhaust?? all i got is about 12" long downpipe

and new cap and rotor, and all that ----.

i mean this car is homemadeturbo, which in my case means that if i didnt have it i made do.

and fancy ignitions and exhausts and ---- just aint my thing.

and no oil leaks??? like anywhere? cuz i have little leaks on the valve cover and what not.

and my a/c wiring is just hacked out. dont have a/c, no power to a/c so would that matter???
if thats what you need maybe i should cancel this dyno.

Props to you for that. I may put mine on rollers this Saturday, actually. If the new 02 sensor I have on the way clears up the issue with my wideband. We'll compare #'s.

I thought the list was when you get it tuned by a tuner from there. Like a way to protect themself...

yimi sport in saugus

funny thing is they may not let me dyno.

i dont think they have seen an hmt build, just grips of subies and evos. so the mess scared them.

Re: going to dyno on fri

apparently i cant run until i have a full exhaust.

i was talking to a guy that has a shop behind them tho,

he just fucks around i think but hes got one of those dynos you bolt to the hubs.

i dont know how well those work though.

hes cheaper too, just has to happen on his schedule so next week.

Dynapacks?

They are pretty sweet, by removing the noise from the tire interface it's super easy to hear a single cylinder misfire.

Yah, you need a full exhaust.

yeah, thats not gonna happen.

maybe like 3ft of 3" dumping out the passenger side of the car.

Re: going to dyno on fri

That works, too. No shop wants to crawl under your car to barely reach your exhaust exit with their sniffer, or an exhaust vent if they have one.

The car being rough is what it is. If it looks like it's a disaster and the owner has no clue shops will shy away. IMO half the fun jobs I tune come from guys who know the ropes and don't give a ----; "push limits and it if blows up I knew it was a piece of ---- anyway" is my favorite mentality.

no open dump!

on the dyno my dump was being sucked back into the turbo and killiing my hp

what did he make on the dyno?

his turbo is way bigger than mine, and i think that my compression is alot lower.

309/250.

Yea your compression is probably a .5 roughly lower than mine. Shouldnt make MUCH of a difference.

Re: going to dyno on fri

as far as ur little oil leaks...i don't think the little ones around the VC matter as long as ur aware of em and dont let em puke oil on their nice floor.

I just noticed this post and I wanna know how it went. Could also do a cheap side exit exhaust just to make the dyno owner happy if u have to.

Good luck.... I hope u made something serious.

That whole "I don't give a ----" is the only way not to be heart broken when a car blows up.
