Dual monitors are great when you need them. Working in AutoCAD or Illustrator/Photoshop sometimes they can become insanely useful. At work I have a 24" monitor and a 14" laptop screen running in dual. I generally just keep other applications in the laptop screen and use the 24" as my active screen. This is especially useful when needing to look at a PDF while doing actual work on the big monitor. I had to write some instructions out for my boss on Thursday and I kept the Word document open on my laptop screen while I did my actual CAD work on my large monitor. It saved a bunch of time not having to constantly minimize the screens.

With that said, if you are used to them, dual 17-19" normal aspect monitors should give you a nice wide platform without being too overwhelming. Otherwise, a single 22" Acer setup is $210 shipped most days of the week from newegg or tigerdirect and should be enough for most people not doing detailed CAD work or the like.

Yeah, i was gonna suggest newegg.com also, but if Jorsher can hook you up, go with it. My buddy got a 48" flat from newegg kinda like Jorsher was talking about, had two pixels that were dead, so they couldn't sell it for full price. The dead pixels aren't even visible with a naked eye, tho

I'll pm you. I might need the money in advance since I'm broke, but I'll let you know. I no longer work there so hopefully can get in touch with a friend that does, and I'll get prices and get back to you. I have a 22" widescreen now but would like to upgrade to a 24" if someone would be interested in 22" of wide glory. I honestly cannot see what the defect was on this monitor (could have been something stupid like the power switch) and I'm 99.43% sure nobody else can.

Like someone else said, you can get bigger screens, but usually once you get above the 20-somethin inchers, you just start increasing size instead of resolution, and there's not too much of a benefit to it. My friend uses a 42" LCD panel he bought from LG as well as his computer monitor, it's really too damn big for the puny 1366x720 resolution it has.

I also used dual monitors before, it's helpful if you're doing programming/web development and can see the page/program running on one screen, and debugging info/code on the other. I'd definitely stick with 4:3 aspect for that purpose though. It's really weird having a 32" wide viewing area that's only 10" high.

Would anyone be interested in a monitor with these specs:

I'll sell it for the cost of my 24-26" monitor + shipping, should be dirt cheap (200 or less shipped for sure)
