Default Goddamn eGay shills

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=160060643173

I almost got it for $8.50 plus $7.20 shipped. Some asshat bid it up to $16.50 in the last 15 seconds. Still arrives to the door for slightly less than the WRT54G's sell for, same chipset, and runs DD-WRT.

Why do you need so many? I just bought a linkseye router and the other deal that hooks to the computer. I got both for like $56 shipped and Staples wanted like $120.

well my house has an addition to it, so part of the house is behind the old exterior wall, which is not exactly wireless friendly...i just scored the compact router for free...a client of mine orrdered a printer and newegg was giving these out for free with it as a combo deal

v1.0 WRT54G which so far I've been unable to unbrick (blundar owns me), but v1.0 has mini-PCI transmitter card so I'm $20 mini-PCI to PCI converter away from a 250mW WiFi card. Also, my Thinkpads run a mini-PCI based 10/100 NIC... I haven't checked yet but I am ASSuming everything is 100 pin mini-PCI I/II stuff. I'm toying with the idea of hacking into one of my T20's and seeing if I can make it fit, run connectors out where the ehternet plug used to go. IIRC, using the Broadcom mini-PCI cards outside of a router w/ generic drivers results in full duplex single antenna transmit... I might also lose the ability to tweak firmware to up signal strength to 250 mW. Needs research.

I also have two Belkin units (one not hackable... by me, via popular methods, anyway), a v1.1 WRT54G, and I think I just won a WRT54GS. The 'rola will make #6 if you count the brick and the mystery auction.

I'd go with the inexpensive Buffalo units, but I'm all about the sub-$20 deal when I can find it. I'm a filthy low-rent, remember?

Justin, have you never played with (relatively) high power WiFi gear, or geeked out on anything? It beats cars for a winter hobby, bro, not that your AZ-residing *** has to experience what I will. I'm considering of making a weatherproof enclosure and sweet talking an upstairs neighbor into letting me sling a router off their porch to act as a repeater for Buncombe County Free WiFi; the lower two stories are blocked by the bank the apartment is on.

If I knew what "wifi gear" was, I might try to ---- with it, but no sir, I have not. My computer gets me on the internet. I browse forums, buy ---- every once in a while, and play a game now and then that catches my interest for whatever reason. I know my neighbors aren't smart enough to hack into my ----, nor do they have the urge to hack into my ---- so I;m not too worried.
