It doesn't take too much creativity to get tickets dropped in traffic court.

The only other speeding ticket i got was for 95 in my siss rsx s on the way to the hamptons one night, didn't say a word. Pulled the dash fuse burnt it out, brought the ---- to the dealer and had them right up a warranty repair. At court they looked at the ticket and the receipt the da looks at me goes yeah ok you had no idea you were going double the speed limit, i'm like no the car is really smooth. She dropped it to a failure to yield. Which is waaayyyy better. That was years ago when i actually cared about these *********** at the dmv. I just stopped going to court... ---- them, register the car in a corp name and just obey the traffic laws... i havn't had a legit license since sept of 2005.

19 over is prolly good for 4 points, but they usually reduce it because the local court gets more money if they knock it down to a few seatbelt tickets (its actually some other loophole ticket now, something about a traffic device or something) But probably def at least a point or 2 along with a decent fine. I think I paid 150ish for 15 over. maybe a bit more

I went to court and didn't dress like a slob. when the cop was explaining how calibrated his gun was, the judge interupted and asked if I had anything to say before he let the cop finish. I politely told him i did not dispute the speeding and simply wanted a little lienency for insurance and such. judge cut it in half with no points, I got a little bit back for fines but no points kicked ***
and the larger tires would ---- up the spedo in your favor. If the spedo measures revs of the tranny, a large tire will have a larger circumference, therefore traveling a longer distance for the same rev aka going faster than it displays. Its always worth a shot there too, as long as you show a reciept for getting it 'fixed'
acting stupid will do nothing for you 'I didn't notice' is the worst excuse cause people are supposed to be alert and paying attention while they drive

My friend just got a ticket for 81 in a 65 construction zone with no construction workers. He bought the defensive driving video at blockbuster and took it before telling the court he took it. Now it won't dismiss the ticket, but he can use it to lower his insurance. And the cool thing about it is you can pass along the video to other people and they don't have to pay the upfront cost of buying the video. Only the charge for taking the test. And for some reason you can take this one more than once a year. Must be cuz texas is the ------- baddest state ever.

I don't understand the tow truck on the island thing.
I drove for well over a year without a license (occasionally it would be valid for a few days before being revoked again) and when I finally got pulled over for my expired tag, which was about a year old, the car was impounded. Since then I have got everything straightened out and now drive legally.
I don't understand the point system in Alabama. Within a year I got over 20 tickets...actually around 30 now since January 2007, and license was suspended 4 times. Yet I now have a new one.
As far as playing dumb, if you have something illegal in the car (drugs, immigrants, moonshine), that's your best bet. As soon as you admit to a crime (like speeding) you are making it much easier to give them probable cause for searching, although it obviously depends on your local laws. You think cops always ask "do you know why I pulled you over" because it really matters if you do or don't? No.
