Giant

Has anyone tried one of the Giant welder combo's that our newest sponsor has? Even though for what it is $900 isn't a bad price but I don't want to waste my money on chinese junk.

Just spend and extra grand and buy a Miller like everyone else says on here. I wasted 3-400 on a Chinese unit and now I'm going to go out and spend 1800~ on a Miller. Even if it's a lot of money, you can at least sell it and get most of your money back if you get bored with it where as the Chinese unit will break the second time you use it. :3

Re: Giant

Ever been to a shop and seen a crusty ancient welder sitting in a corner, caked with dirt and grime and still pumping out weld every day? Odds are it's a Miller or Lincoln, or some other quality name brand. The reason you don't see a smiley TIG or equivalent CDMShit in the same situation, is because they never last that long. Spend your money once and wisely. Get something you'll be proud of and have for years to come.

My smiley lasted about 3 years. It was great to learn on and worked well till its death.

My smiley's gas solenoid was DOA. It works if I bypass it, but it's honestly not worth the gamble.
