Ghey question about boost gauges
 
I dont understand how electrial boost gauges work. Does this boost gauge come with everything needed to install one?

The boost guage you have the link for is a machanical boost guage. And it looks like it comes with basicaly everything to install it.

whats the difference in a manual boost guage and oil pressure gauge or a fuel pressure gauge?

What do you mean? one is to read boost, one for oil press., and one for fuel. :) If its a mechanical type guage, basicaly you need to run pressure, or fuel or whatever to the guage so it can read the pressure.

The reason is I can get a fuel pressure guage locally otherwise I have to order or buy off ebay. :-) I might try and hook it up as a boost gauge. I remeber someone say that they have done it.

Mechanical guage is well.. Mechanical it measures the actual thing at the guage in this case your fuel..

Electrical guages utilize sending units.. they test locally and relay an electronic signal.

Get the Dakota Digital gauges, theyre sweet. I'm buying a set for my '76 Z, they fit right in and look stock.

---- man thats ghetto, if it even works.. get a boost guage. go to Canadian tire or auto zone or your local performance shop.

besides, a fuel press guage has higher nuumbers, 10, 20 30 40 50 etc... a boost is like. -10 (vacuum) to like 30 ...
