very very nice, really clean. the car looks just as it should, dropped to the deck, black headlights, no spoiler or ---- and a massive front mount. props for a perfect EK!!

Thanks a lot guys, and thanks to BlinD for hosting these pics. The car still looks the same, but the turbo setup(minus fuel setup) went on that blue del sol in the backround the day of those pictures, and the motor is all apart waiting for me to finish it.

Re:ghettoturbo's Turbo Hatch (no 56k)

i bet your tires love that camber :P just ------ with you, looks good. it's a hard decision for me to get a rex or a newer hatchie :-\

88crxSi 08-20-2003 08:34 AM

Re:ghettoturbo's Turbo Hatch (no 56k)

i would have gotten a 96+ hatch but my rex only cost me $2,000 CAD$. :)

but ya, i would have gotten a silver one too!

but i love it.. yah camber is a "little" off, but it looks really clean which is what i like!

turboboy 08-20-2003 11:00 AM

Re:ghettoturbo's Turbo Hatch (no 56k)

lol the camber looks worse than it really is because the wheel is cut a little...but i dont mind. If i was to straighten it out, the tires would rub.

I see how you do, trying to hate on us 56k users. It only took 5 minutes for those pictures, not that long. I would have done something different for your afr gauge wire, maybe along the bumper or something.

turboboy 08-20-2003 01:23 PM

Re:ghettoturbo's Turbo Hatch (no 56k)

crx88si: this car only cost me 2500 US, im not sure how that converts...and i hate the fact that my car is silver like all the other ek's i see here

greddycrx: i was running 13psi, which was good enough to beat new mustangs, a friends lt1 camaro, an eg hatch with a type-r swap, etc, etc,...but the clutch was shot so going off the line was tough

kyle: the wire was the right length for my old manifold, when i made this one, i didnt feel like adding onto the wire

88crxSi 08-20-2003 01:50 PM

Re:ghettoturbo's Turbo Hatch (no 56k)

only 2500 US!?!?!?! how the hell do u pull that off? salvage title? what year? Milage? 2500 = 3500 CAD. I wish we could get that price around here.. damnn it.. lucky sob. lol

3500 for car + 3000 for gsr = smokin hatch.. damn you!

turboboy 08-20-2003 01:54 PM

Re:ghettoturbo's Turbo Hatch (no 56k)

its a 96, no salvage, but it had like 155k on it from one owner who worked like an hour away

I was checking this thread out and I saw that I had already replied to it, and I didn't remember replying to it. that's my indicator that the thread is old.

i never trust oil lines that are rubber and clamped down with those O clamps. i use that on my first setup and the first time i floored it and hit boost the oil line popped off and was squirting oil all over my engine bay n i never cleaned it since. i prefer steel braided and threaded. other then that nice setup.

those arent just regular rubber hoses, they are aeroquip oil lines...never had one problem. And the bov was ok, not too loud. And this setup has been on about 4 other cars by now, and the car has been sold and crashed :(

LOL. That's pretty wierd. Hey, did anyone notice in this pic that on the right side of the turbo (cold side) there looks like an oil nipple with no oil line on it. What's the deal? That confused me. Is that for like a water-cooled line? Thanks!

its the vacume line source from the compressor housing to the wastegate.... not an oil line

Re: ghettoturbo's Turbo Hatch (no 56k)

i used rubber oil lines on my fiorst setup for about 8 monthas with zero hiny of problems, id use em again if i was in a tight spot money wise

turboDA6 04-24-2005 03:16 PM

Re: ghettoturbo's Turbo Hatch (no 56k)

man i got my steel braided lines n fittings for like 40 bux at. that was well within my tight budget n less to worry about. that's one problem i wouldn't wanna have to think about or worry bout... IMO

Re: ghettoturbo's Turbo Hatch (no 56k)

a rubber feed kit can be constructed for less than 10 dollars.
