Ghettoness at its finest

Ok whats the most ghettoest thing you have ever down to repair your car.. be it patching an exhaust leak with coke cans and bondo... or making an intake out of dryer hose. Reataching your crashed bumper with duct tape?

State the problem.
Then the sollution.
Then a reason why you did this.

Example.

prob. Radiator Hose busted.
fix. Rubber cement and a bicycle inertube
reason. $9.99 was too much for a new hose

i busted a bolt that held my front caliper on the the hub assembly (84 accord 4 door). broke it clean off.

I drilled a sheet rock screw (2 inch) into the broken bolt to hold the calaper in place. and it worked ;)

dident have the $40 for a new hub assembly or a tap to tap the screw out.

Oh and i also used a brick to hold the car in place when the e-break cables broke.

i was too cheap to fix that too..

fixed a water pump with JB weld, broke a bolt off there too.. go figure;0

being cheap again.

Problem: I broke the three rear lower tranny mount bolts and busted off the back end of the tranny.

Solution: My motor was kinda hanging there so I used a ratcheting tie down with one end on the tranny and one ned on the upper strut brace.

Why: I couldn't find a new SI tranny for the longest time. The first one I got was fucked. >:(

Problem-I was tired of the loud(deep tone) vibration frome my after market exhaust.I wanted to keep the cat back manderal bent piping but wanted to use my stock muffler.

The problem-The stock muffeler flange was at a different angel than my cat back pipe flange.I couldnt just bolt them together.

The ghetto solution-cut the flange on the stock muffeler.Bolted the stock flange to the cat back pipe.wraped the piece of pipe with the flange and the pipe on the muffeler with exhaust wrap(used to fix holes in muffelers)Then used high temp radiator hose and hose clamps to hold the two together.
No I dont have a welder and Im too cheap to puy 10 bucks to get it welded.I had all the ---- I used in my garage.
Its ghetto but now I can hear the radio!_

on my last car a 87 olds cutlass supeme with dual exhaust i hit a bump in the road and ripped a hole in the muffler so i used duct tape and zip ties to cover the hole it lasted for about 20 minutes enough to get home without getting pulled over

plus the olds had a trailer hitch so i raced my friend with a 91 integra beat him (the car went 14s) he runs through a puddle of water with cold air intake blows the motor so we go to uhaul get a trailer and i tow him home
i miss my ghetto olds

silicone couplers and mandral pipes are too expensive and harder to work with.

So spent $26 on PVC piping, couplers, pvc cement, and had 6' of left over PVC and made my own IC piping from PVC in about 35 minutes.

Same as the problem.
