they cant tell if he changes his mac address or not though. All he has to say is he got a new laptop or a computer.

im aware of this, like i said, if you change it, 90% of the time comcast wont lease you a ip.

Thats strange. Around here Time warner will still lease you an ip. But they're pretty leanant and let you run webservers and whatever. We dont have comcast around here though.

i have a webserver on my computer, but comcast will charge your $5 if they detec a new mac address (like if you use a hub instead of a router)
