Long story short, last year I had some financial trouble, I sold the coupe, the turbo setup, and the built motor. i drove around in the wifes CRV for a while, i finally had a little cash and i picked up a 4 door, it was beat to hell but it was only 500. It got me to work everyday for 6 months and never gave me ----. I finally got tired of it, and I wanted something better. For years i wanted a hatchback, but nothing cheap, or nothing decent enough would pop up. And finally fate struck

My bro bought this stock 90 SI hatch, it had a faulty fuel pump that would cut out past 3500rpm, and it needed a clutch, he immediatly sold it to his friend who needed a car, well the guy never paid him for the car, and ended up overheating it to ---- after the radiator busted and he drove it around for 15-20 miles. My bro got the car back, he slapped a new headgasket on it, and a new fuel pump, the car started for 5 minutes, then it turned off and never wanted to start again. He gave up on it, and i offered to buy it from him for 1000 if I could fix it. Well i spent weekend after weekend after weekend, sorting out the problems, faulty relay, shorted wires, cleaning injectors, and finally it started, but would die after a minute of driving, I finally pulled the pump out and compared it to one off a crx, and noticed that the fuel strainer was the wrong one (------- autozone) it was supposed to point down and forward, the one it had on pointed up and back ( so it wasnt sucking fuel on turns). I switchd it and finally got the car to run decent and then on the way to work i get a ---- load of smoke. Nasty black *** smoke past 3500rpm, and foul smelly white smoke at idle, something is wrong,A little smoke'B'Gone, helped me get home, Then i decide to pull the head and this is what i see....

I took the mudflaps off the 4 door, they dont look too bad.



SOHC ZC, has all the smog ----, and AC too, Koyo 2inch aluminum radiator(taking up too much space) Soon to be turbo, probably a sidemount or something low budget. Have most of the ---- already.

The jack took a ----, and i hate having to crank the stock jack to get the car up, so i rigged this up. You have to grind the shaft a little to get it to fit a standard powerdrill. holding it steady at full blast, it can raise the car in 2 seconds

damn, looks like #2,3 rings are toast, theres oil everywhere.


Hopefully it can be honed out, now i know where all the black smoke was coming from, hopefully its just the rings, and not the ringlands.

GOD DAmn!!! THe valves are crusty as ----, thick black ---- caked over with white alkaline looking ---- (coolant?)


Sorry about this one, forgot to hit the macro button, but this white ---- is caked on there good, i gave it a whirl on the wirebrush, and it came right off, going for super ghetto flat rate rebuild (head resurfacing, rings, hG)

that car sounds like a pain in the ***. Thats too bad because it looks pretty fresh. I noticed that alot of the wires on my 88 LXi are starting to get crusty too, the insulation just cracks off of them.

I think the red lip on the rotas would look nice on an all black hatch. Would brake it up some so it wouldnt be over whelming with it all black. Glad you got it all figured out. Any plans laid out so far for it Albert? your gonna have to go and smack your cuz up and tell him to ship my head out.
