Ok, a friend of mine scored at the junk yard about a week ago, he picked up a COMPLETE GSR greddy kit with 18G turbo for $800 of off a car at a semi local junk yark, any way while at the junk yark he had been told that the "built" GSR engine that the kit came off of is blown. So i thought since the whole kit was sold so cheap i could maybe buy that engine for dirt event though it's fucked, i could still maybe use the head (if it didn't get banged up by the fucked up pistones) and maybe the rods are still good, so i called that place and a guy told me $350, so i thought it's not that bad of a deal. Drove there for an hour to find a short block (no head) stock internals and a cracked sleev. God, thouse people are idiots. I'm ------ pissed! Thought i'd share... sorry it's kinda long

 

That is cool that he found the kit. But yeah some people at junkyards are *****. The place I usually go has good parts guys who can tell me if it is worth my time to go out there.

Pics of the block or of the turbo? because I didnt' buy the turbo, my friend did, so i don't have it. And i DIDN'T buy the block... ---- that!

 

Sucks about the block but what I dont get is that if I am dropping my car off at the local JY I'm sure as hell going to take off my turbo kit and everything else worth some money on it.

I don't understand why people leave all this ---- on their cars when it's going to the JY?

 

Well, i know here in florida, they dont give you a chance to strip what you want off of the car if the insurance company tows it, they stuff it somewhere right away, and you ahve to get permission to even go take personal items you forgot out of it. Happened to my friend and his 240. I would probably have them tow it to my house, or at least try.
