Gay oil filter relocation kit!

OK, so I got the dual filter relocation kit so I could have more oil in the race car to keep oil temps down a bit. The kit is kinda cool, it use 2 Ford Bronco style oil filters (PH2 or something). I mounted the filters on the drivers side in the inner area below the coolant overflow.

The way I set it up you have to remove one bolt to remove the filters since they are just above the crossmember. It all looked good but when I first went to start the car, it started fine, but the oil pressure light wouldn't go off. So I thought, well the filters are full yet so I added a quart more oil, and nope, light was still on. I look out the door and oil was going everywhere.

It turns out the adapter that goes on the block wasn't drilled in far enough and not tapped to the end either. So when I screwed it on, and it looked and felt tight, I figured it was good. But the tiny gap doesn't do anything under pressure.

Well, so I removed it, tapped in a bit farther, and ended up spinning a bearing before putting the thing back on from having low oil :-\ . When I was putting a different motor together, I thought i'd toss it on there, i did and there it was tight with no gap. I installed the block, put the oil hoses on and it looked good.

Well I finished the motor part of the race car today and started her up, she sounded good, everything seemed fine. Then I saw oil on the ground... not cool. I crawled under with a headlamp to check it out.

Oil between the adapter and block? NO, the ------- adapter cracked where one of the hoses goes into it.

I'm pissed, after all that ----, I have to take it off, and that's not easy to do from under the car...

We made our own oil filter relocation kit for the Suzuki to fit an oil cooler.
