go to www.mcmaster-carr.com so a search for "stainless steel shim stock" you can buy sheets or rolls, whatever thickness you want from .002" to .025" you can cut this stuff with some industrial scissors depending on how thick you get it. it should work the same as any ss gasket you buy. also, if you buy a roll, you can make some for your friends.

Do NOT use copper. It will seal fine for a short time but it can't take the heat. If I still had my old copper gaskets that I made I would show them to you and you could see how they just melted away in some spots. I have since replaced them with 16ga mild steel and they seem to be holding up fine.

cut up license plates work pretty good, but you canget special exhaust gasket material, i dont know where tho.

i'm using a cx manifold and 14b turbo. it was my first adapter plate and there wasn't enough overlap to seal it between the cx manifold and adapter with the stock gasket, thats why i used tin (did ok with the heat. i think it might need more than 1 sheet or put some exhaust maker ----. it only takes up to 700 degrees though. i figure it might just me sandwiched in there and seal anyway.

You should be able to get it at any auto parts store. Ask for Mr. Gasket exhaust gasket material. Hopefully the counter person knows what your talking about.

I used the high temp sheet gasket (mr. gasket, make your own), for my turbo header flange and down pipe gasket. It looks like a sheet of white cardboard, about 2 mm thick. I smeared both sides with high temp silicone gasket before i installed it. U can only use it once, as when i pulled off my turbo, the gaskets crack and fall apart. I got no leaks when i ran my turbo so i give it a thumbs up. I bought it for 10 bucks CAN at my local performance shop (mopac).

I have had shitty luck with that, never lasts for me even if its tight and flanges are flat Buy the right ones you will thank yourself later
