You should be able to disconnect the sensors. A few years ago when we installed a new opener at my uncles house we never installed the sensors but maybe the newer units require it.

If you cant disconnect them then try to make little paper cylinder shields to block the sunlight from the sensors. Its just a little beam...i am assuming infrared.

adjust the force settings on the opener. the 2 lil black *****. unless there is a clutch on the back of the unit. if there is a clutch on the back of it, tighten it up a few turns....


i bet you have a wood door that hasnt been balanced for its whole life. a sectional door will stay up halfway open if you have a sectional door....

i would tell you to adjust the springs but its kinda dangerous if you dont know what you are doing...

if there is *****. they should be turned up 3/4 up

if there is a clutch, just tighten it

disconnect the power, pull out the sequensor board with a 1/4" nut driver. pop off the covers for the relay, clean them up and re bend if needed....


(its the one with 1 harness on it with hella wires.)

If the sensors are mounted to the tracks, and the track is loose or wobbles when you open and close it, it will throw the beam out of wack. make shure everything is tight.

Have you ever sat in a vehicle with black leather that has been sitting in the sun for any length of time?

The sensors are working fine. When it ***** up and doesn't do what it's supposed to the sensors remain properly working and aren't detecting any breaks in the beam.

I've fucked with those and turned them each way 75 different times and it does the same exact ----.

I've left it disconnected for ~45 minutes and when I plug it in, I get the same ----.

I'm going out to ---- with it right now since the sun is down. Maybe that will help.
