Default Garage door opener experts, where you at??

My piece of ---- garage door opener has a mind of it's own and doesn't like to go up or down sometimes. The sensors are hooked up fine and nothing is in the way of them. It will start moving, then like 2 seconds into it, it will stop and go the other direction for a few seconds, then stop again. I can't get this mother ****** to work right. Some days it seems to work fine, but then the next day it's a total piece of ---- and now I have burnout marks in my driveway after it pissed me off today.

It's a Genie, series II intellicode. Do they just go bad like this and you have to buy a new one?

God damn it, that's what I was thinking. It's gay though because it will do it when the garage is closed and there is no sunlight hitting them.

There has to be a way to ypass the sensors. It's only 2 wires and 2 connections going to the unit. Jump them together and see what happens?

The pile of ---- doesn't even have a cover. It came with the house. I should have expected it to be broken because I'm made of money and I have an acre of money trees growing in the backyard of this mother ******. I've spent several thousand dollars at Home Depot and Lowes in the past couple of weeks. Might as well add another $200 for a ------- garage door opener. I'm going to go beat the ---- out of it with a hammer. I'll report back with my results.....

yeah, buying a new one works better than fixing a shitty one.

blow it up, dont use a hammer. make a cool little bomb, put it in there and then film it.

its better for venting anger.

same thing happened to a friend of mine. he just got a new one. he gave me his old one as payment to help him install the new one. i figured i could fix the old one and put it on my mom's old *** garage door.
when i hooked it up it worked great. been fine for about 7 months now.
