Glad to see that thing is running good for you. :6 We need some good ripper videos!! I was working on putting the same motor into a blaster frame, but that is on hold for now.

Start with them all loose and go from there, sometimes even if they're all closed at idle the spring tension can cause them to open at different degrees, which messes with the vacuum, if it's a single split hose like the old GSXR's.

Re: garage burnoff

i got it running better, it needed to be rejetted for the new air filters, so i put the old box on and it runs great.

does that have the YICS system? my buddy has a xj650 and that setup apparently does something like...all the intake ports are connected via a tunnel that runs through them.. apparently to tune the carbs you have to buy/make some sort of tool that blocks off the common runner so you can actually isolate each carb.. otherwise one carb sees vacuum from the other 3 cyl...... something like that anywho

that was short lived, motor blew up

big hole in the #1 piston. it got hydrolocked with gasoline, somehow a shitload of gas ran into that cylinder fucked it up.

it ran with the hole but then the peice got wedged into something and it stopped.

now its gunna get high comp pistons and a sweet homemade -15hp head port & polish

Re: garage burnoff + beach WOT trips three wheeler w/ streetbike motor

Keep in mind that you want to have a high pressure spot right around the valve opening and a venturi effect to pressurize it and you'll be fine.

Just curious how much trouble was that to pull off? I'm new to ATVs n stuff.. As of now, I have an unused frame, and I'm sure I can find a motor somewhere. How much time/ $$$/ skills does somethin like that take?

Re: garage burnoff + beach WOT trips three wheeler w/ streetbike motor

it took me about 48 hours of work i guess to get the frame and motor together then a little bit getting it setup.

its not slow, its more than double the power it had before. in that video i started at the bottom of 2nd and barely clicked third which was about 60mph on the bike

its only a 600cc engine, from 1994. so its not 130hp or anything...

i let my raptor get about 6 quad length headstart and i passed it at the top of 2nd starting in 2nd... and raptor 700s are one of the fastest sport atvs out there...
