If it came from a homeowners association and it is in your restrictions then you have to comply or your family might see some fines. If it just came from a stupid neighbor, ignore it, there's nothing they can do, is your damn garage, you can do whatever you want.

I had a guy that got pissed off because I did an engine swap in the driveway of our rented house, he said he rented the house for living not for business, I was like WTF, this aint business is my damn f'ing car.....we got kicked out in about a month :P

It was a mailed letter, addressed to the homeowner of the house, stamp and everything. I am going to forget it, for the reasons you listed. Someone has a problem, come deal with it directly in person, or live with it. Exhausts are all on the cars now anyways...

And no, it's not a gated community or anything like that. IIRC city by-law is something like 11PM cutoff for loud noises, which is fine, I'm doing this ---- in the middle of the day. It's eerie, there is no noise in the neighbourhood apart from my house/driveway/garage during the weekdays.

I've just always turned my power tools off by 9pm, and never really had a problem. However when i used to have my tahoe i built a pretty huge sound system, and my neighbor like 8 houses down came up to me one day yelling at me that i was "shaking everything in the god damn house, the windows the plates, the furniture everything, and this ---- need to stop" I just kind of appologized and rolled my eyes after the fact, i mean it was a nice setup, but not that nice! And it wasnt like i blared it in front of my house, i always had it low until i got about a block away, you know the old "dont ---- in your own backyard rule". But it was the one day where i had been tuning the amp for like a minute and he got heated... must have been the male equivelent of menopause... ::)

It doesn't look to be from a official group or anything, it looks like someone just got pissed, popped out their typewritter and wrote a crappy letter. Official letters usually have a little more info than that like the ones leed posted.

I say ignore it, but you should frame it and hand it in your garage, funny stuff!!!

Do an HMT meet and have everyone bring air tools.
