the stock focus has a returnless system, the fuel pressure is regulated by the fuel pump from the ecu. i agree that an aeromotive might be over kill so i will probably with one of the cheaper aeromotive pumps for around 250$

i just want to know do you guys think that a pickup tube will cause starvation under heavy accell, you guys think that the tube will such up air when the fuel level is low.

i want to run a external pump for sure, i want a fuel system good for 600hp even though i wont be going that high.

dude someone with no brain can see that it will starve if all you have is a straight tube in the middle of the tank. i mean honestly if you even have to ask, i have to question your ability to even make 450whp.

some solutions

1: put some fuel cell foam like the other guy suggested and hope that keep enough fuel around the pickup tube or
2: bend a pickup tube so that it positions itself at the back/bottom of the tank so even when it sloshes back, the puckup will still be submerged in fuel.

OR

you can rewire the fuel pump so that it isnt controlled by the ecu, run it at 12 volts constant and call it a day. a walbro is good for 600whp which youll never make anyways. stop being a dreamer and think realistically.

i just think that something like this would be alot simpler instead of rewiring a stock pump and replacing a walboro.

im considering making housing with slots that would store some fuel and prevent sloshing.

how would modifying a pickup and running all kinds of new fuel lines be easier then running 3 wires? i fail to see your logic.

not to mention the cost of an external pump is going to cost at minimum $600 when its all said and done (the right way) as opposed to a $99 walbro and $15 for some wire and a relay.

i just think that replacing the stock pump for a walboro then modifying the stock housing to accept the walboro, plus wiring a relay would be more work. also if i run an external any problems i could easily get to it without having to drop the tank. trust me ive considered dropping in a walboro or even the cheaper xencron pump but i just think that an external pump will be a more practial method. plus if it work easily their a ton of focus guys that would pay good money for something like that. and in the end if its a complete flop i can always grab a walboro and sell the other pump.

i know i sound like a :1 but i like innovation.

so in the end do you think that something like that would work.

Listen to corey, his idea seems simple and effective. You sound like you just wanna throw money at it to make it over compliacted.

P.s. 450hp isnt high.
