Fuel pump

Hey i'm currently N/A, I have most of my turbo kit built so far. But i was wondering, what what happen if i put in my Bosch 115 PSI fuel pump (inline). Would this make me go rich or do nothing at all?

Re:Fuel pump

You can have a big ass 500lph fuel pump, with stock injectors and a stock regulator and it will be fine.. All that extra fuel just gets pumped back into the tank through the fuel return line.

Re:Fuel pump

The fuel pump check valve can be bleeding down, or your injectors could be leaking past the seals. Both of those will give you hard starts..

Re:Fuel pump

Have they figured out if it starts hard because of a fuel problem? If it is fuel then it's normally a pump problem or a leakdown of pressure in the injectors....happens with age. This has all been said though. If the relay is bad then the pump won't turn on. Sometimes they are intermittent but it doesn't sound like the prob. If it runs without missing you know there is a spark problem

I will say this. I have seen a new Intrepid start hard for 3 years and finally they figured out that is had 5 leaking injectors but the car still drove great. I would swap the injectors and give that a try first.

sounds good, i'm going to source the problem tonight at my mechanics house. Another possibilty i was thinking was that maybe the butterfly in the TB is stuck open a bit. From 12 years or use maybe! If it is not closing properly that would cause a inproper signal to the MAP, yeah?

Not really, basically over time the grime in the throttle body will just make it a bit sticky, and sometimes that carbon build up can go in the IACV passages. But for a hard start.. No, that really wont be a problem.
