Fucking Honda-Tech Jackoffs.

Well considering the B17A connecting rods are 5.208" and the B16A connecting rods are 5.290" I'd say that makes up for it right there.

And just because you have been such an ass towards me and trating me like I am some kind of a retard or lower life then you.. I did the following to help you see my point...

Yes, the rods are different lengths, but is this all that dictates how far a piston travels in its bore? No, you forgot something here. Lets look at the stroke provided by each engine.

B16 = 3.047
B17 = 3.205

Now, if we subtract the two, we come up with a difference of .158". Now, you just got through telling me the two engines had the same compression with the same pistons because the rods are shorter. Shall we actually look closer at your statement? I am sure you will have another remark for me when done here...

B16 rod = 5.290
B17 rod = 5.208

Now, again, subtracting the two shows us a difference of .082. Now, stick with me. If we take the length of the rods into consideration, and subrtract it from the difference we got of the two strokes, it leaves us with .076... So, with this in mind, would it not make sense now that a B17 would put the same piston farther out of the hole, and thus explain the increase in compression when compared to the exact same setup in a B16? I hope you can respond without un needed remarks like "its called learning", etc.. I am just trying to help people to better understand what I have experienced first hand. I made the mistake of believing everything I read and wound up finding out the hard way. I wouldn't want someone else to learn the way I had to.

So, I found this pile of crap doing some searching on Honda-Tech. Wow! There really are some arrogant(sp) misinformed douchebags on that site. :3

So what's wrong with this piece of ----?

Someone who is supposedly a mechanic with more than average knowledge than average :l doesn't know how to properly calculate deck height differences.

Correct way to find compression height. Distance from Main Bore Centerline to the Deck Surface-(Stroke/2)+Connecting Rod Length+Deck Clearence=Compression Height
So a simpole adaptation below:

B17 (3.205/2)+5.208=6.811

B16 (3.047/2)+5.290=6.814

------- jackass has his theory backwards. The CTR ositons wll sit about 0.003" further down the bore in a B17 than it will in a B16.

Kinda funny that noobs come over here from there and say that HMT is the laughing stock of the automotive forum community. BASIC ------- AUTOMOTIVE MATH does noit seem to apply over there. :1 :1 :8

End of rant.
