fuckin homo....tranny exploded.... PICS
 
well after like 6-9months of abuse the tranny called it quits...

so i ease away from a stop sign, and about a foot off the line and it makes a noise that sounded like it came out of gear then the ------ crunch/grind/diff shattering noise :'( then a nice trail of oil about 40ish feet as i coast off the road.... at the point where the noise happened there was a spider gear and a huge chunk of tranny case that came off the top of the tranny...

so there was some serious USDM S1 tranny ownage today... my roommate took a couple pics of everything he could. so i will post those up tonight when we get back to our place...


turbo LSVTEC carnage count: 4 PR4 pistons, headgasket, USDM S1 tranny... and a clutch that the LS toasted... oh lots of tires too ;) <~might have something to do with the tranny ::)

i didnt buy anything from him, just need to get ahold of him. i have never had a problem he has always came threw on what he has told me... i just apearently had a old phone number

the tranny was a junkyard tranny that i got for hella cheap, then beat the ---- out of... ---- happens.

the tranny i got to replace it i got from Josh...

Yeah that sucks, my throwout bearing went earlier this week, was a ------ to change without dropping the tranny or removing the VSS (which ended up snapping anyways)

lol, that's sounds exactly like what happenned to me when I had my VW :o the spider gear on the ground in peices, hole in the casing and oil all over the place...... that sux man

it was the crappy 2L 4 banger, at the time I was too poor to own any thing with the vr6 or g60 :( it was a fun car but it didn't take well to punishment hahaha. I think I read somthing about vw having a recall on some of their trannies because of of the pop rivet holding the spider gear in place shearing off or somthing. meh I sold the VW long ago cuz it was to expensive to keep fixing the damn thing, that's why I got tha honda 8)

wasnt a recall....but it was a problem, they (the VW community) call it SMS (self machining syndrome)... the diff pin machines at the case till it pokes threw and breaks a big ass chunk of tranny off with it and usually spews oil onto the clutch and ----... big wheels usually speed up the SMS process...

but this looks to be just ~14years of use and a year of getting rapped at the end ::) think there is a theory on the diff pin bending and locking the spider gears then shooting them out the side like pictured... might be while my car was soo good at laying two stripes for 30 feet... ::)

you bet your ass i will try as hard as i can to make it... i already called in sick for work for wedesday to work on the CRX and intake mani... going to go pick up the tranny tomarrow evening...

my last tranyy just fucked up on every gear. opened it up and all kinds of ---- just fell out, lol. Now I have a USDM S1 tranny. These are hard to come by.

I never seen a tranny busted up like that b4. Well i just finish my tranny swap this past weekend. Atleast u got a replacement tranny.

I love D's, everything is cheaper than a B.

just off 524, its a backroad that goes to 180th. there is a church on the corner... good thing we took theback roads otherwise it would have happend at Bothell-Everett HWY and 180th :-\

Honda didn't use the harden pinion pin till 1992 for the Civics, 1992 for the GSR, 1994 for the rest of the integra models.........
