There is a company allready making all the parts for a wrx in carbonfiber I saw one with all carbonfiber body panels in the parking lot of hot import nights in orlando a few weeks ago :-X That must have cost more than my car for all those panels :-\

You know what I mean. Yes less weight is better, I don't deny it, but these people are not doing it to race or dailiy drive the car, and seriuosly I rather spend 10,000 in engine parts to make the car faster as it is.


When the car came out, most of the buyers where guys that knew about the WRC heritage and appreciated the car for it's history and power. Now there's too many kids buying them and thinking they are the ----, because the car is turbo. When it's not really that fast from the factory. But hey it happens to all the cars, you can't prevent it.

Exactly. And even at that, I saw a Honda Tuner article on a 2003 Civic Si who got a CF hatch, and guess what? It was actually heavier than the original! I've also seen CF sunroof plugs. ::) Pretty soon people will be running around with a car made entirely out of CF, jeez o man..

lol, people have been driving around in cars made entirely out of carbon fiber since like the early 90s, 100 or so people in fact, and what do they share in comon? they are the proud owners of the Mclaren F1. Sure if I were rich I'd have all the carbon fiber goodies, painted ofcourse, but well I'm still poor, I think fiberglass will do me good.

bla....if they werent so concerned with how "cool" it looks they color match them instead of leaving them bare.
I do think in some cases it looks better bare (primarily lips)

there was a civic in one of those ricer mags a yr or so ago that was all cf like that, even the center of the rims were cf, his dad had a shop that made it, so he went nuts, seats were covered in it, and everything

Carbon fiber trunk lids are accualy better than carbon fiber hoods for weight reduction because when you loose weight in the rear end your engine has to do less work to get the back end going. a factory hood puts more weight on your front end giving you alittle more traction bia.

You do realize that properly made carbon fiber parts are stronger than steel. You need to do some reading on carbon fiber.

leth, first and foremost, congrats on already being a post------. Second off, CF is pretty useless in some cases (like the one I stated). Also, I wouldn't want to waste the money on a CF trunk, but thats just me.

Making that entire car out of CF is a waste of money to me. For all of that, he could've had a very sweet engine setup, and me ten times faster. I like go before show, no matter what.

Well no ----, but I'm talking cost-effectiveness. Like me and you trying to do this ---- Spenser, not people worth 50 million. Of course it works for the mclaren to be made out of carbon fiber. Just taking an already expensive car and converting everything to cf seems stupid to me.
