fuckin ebay gidget turbo timer
Has anyone had any experience with an ebay timer like this one? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TURBO...09934917QQrdZ1 I've never looked into turbo timers so I'm not quite sure how to check one out. It doesn't seem like the most complex thing int he world though. |
Re: fuckin ebay gidget turbo timer
I would be leary about buying one of those as if it fails your car will sit there running all night etc.A decent quality turbo timer really doesn't cost very much as like you said they are pretty simple.I had a Greddy turbo timer in my old DSM and i bought it new for i think $100.

Re: fuckin ebay gidget turbo timer
my turbo timer was free..its called sitting in the car for a min..or just stay outta boost like 5mins before you reach your destination..or the classic spare key timer..for short trips

Re: fuckin ebay gidget turbo timer
hmm ok maybe I'll just get a used Greddy or Apexi one then. :)

Re: fuckin ebay gidget turbo timer

Re: fuckin ebay gidget turbo timer
On something like this i would try to stick with a brand name.

Re: fuckin ebay gidget turbo timer
i have that same timer in my civic and i don't have any problems with it at all the wiriing for it was pretty wierd to do but it came with instructions for it all...it works fine. the car stays on untill it hits zero.there is a automatic setting so the timer sets itself and there is a manual setting so u set it. mine was only 30 dollars :D but i mean you could prob. get one of those knock off apexi ones for cheap and it'll work fine too plus it'll have a brand name on it :) i saw one on ebay for 80 dollars

Re: fuckin ebay gidget turbo timer
I think they would work fine. I have a cheapo eBay 2-way car alarm that is definetly cheaply made and most probably in China. It has a remote starter that shuts off the engine after 2, 5, or 10 minutes of being started remotely. Never gave me a problem and its the same principle as a turbo timer (and some alarms have it as a feature so if you dont have an alarm you have a turbo car you should.)

turbotimer = pointless gook crap
you too impaitent to sit in your car for 60 seconds after you do a 20-120 pull? if you really think your oil is going to be that hot invest in a carquest oil coolerthey are about 30 dollars and it'll do way more good than some stupid ass timer |

I have a blitz i got for 10.00. Works fine, just not auto or anything fancy.
And Have you ever read the owners manual on a factory turboed vehicle. My bro-in-laws F350 has a Notice in it to let the vehicle idle before shut-down after long-period runnings! |
