Ok so a few months back i was driving one of my parents cars in the rain and took a corner to fast and hit a guardrail. No biggie the 92 crown vic shrugged it off and i told my parents that someone hit and ran on me at a parking lot considering the damage was just on the front corner of the bumper. Today i get a call today from the local Police that they have video of this happening because it is a road many people litter on, they have the discreption of the vehicle from Dol and got a partial on the liscense plate. Im still not 18 so im not sure if they can ticket me or what. Any information on what i could or could not be charged with is welcome. To add this road is a 15 and at the time of accident i was anywhere from 35-45mph.

Most of the time someone has to be hurt or there has to be a minimum amount of damage ($500?) before you HAVE TO report an accident. What did they say they were going to do? I'd say someone else was driving. They could NEVER prove otherwise, and with that, there ain't ---- they can do.

They just mentioned they would call back another time when the head of house hold was available, they didnt mention anything other then that it was on video and that records had been pulled on a car matching my daily which is under my parents name. Only people who would drive the car is me or one of my parents so im kinda fucked saying someone else did it. And wtf do you mean by "dont be a bitch"?

I have already decided that i will tell them, they prolly wont get to pissed but this couldnt have came at the worst time becuse i was going to get a different car tomorrow so i dunno if im gonna get fucked over or what.

The police will need to talk to your parents b/c they are the registered owners. Tickets can be assesed to the registered owner of the vehicle if the identity of the driver cannot be acertained. The police, most likely, shouldn't even talk to you about the matter b/c it has nothing to do with you as far as they know.
