----.. I think I just stripped a nut that holds the valve cover down
Perfect timing with battle of the imports tomorrow. I was replacing a bad valve cover gasket and those rubber grommet deals for the spark plug holes and when I put the VC back on, the nut on the driver's side closest to the firewall that holds the valve cover down screwed down, but then stopped tightening. I tried tightening or loosening it, and it wouldn't move down or up. I tried pulling it out, but it won't either so I don't think the stud is snapped. The valve cover sits pretty flush as it should, but I'm going to have to get this bitch off eventually, how would I do this? Is it going to leak if I leave it like this? (all the other nuts are tightened down properly)
Here's a pic of how it sits:

Shouldn't leak but I wouldn't trust it. I snapped the stud once.. found a civic hiding in the woods and stripped some parts off of it. The valve cover was good for a day, no leaks.. i didnt even have a bolt on the top

put silicon around it to seal it for now, and when you have th remove it even IF the stud snapped it can be replaced with a new one as long as nothing stays inside the thread in the head.
