so...i traded in the wifes 99 grand prix gtp last saturday for an '05 accord ex the loaded model with all options, $30,000, the car now has 278 miles on it, and when you brake hard at highway speeds theres a shimmy in the steering wheel, and tonight the car sat in the driveway for about 4 hours, then i pulled it in the garage and noticed a few puddles of fluid on the driveway, i look underneith it with a flashlight and the ENTIRE bottom side of the tranny is covered in ATF.... >:( WTF is that??? i'm gonna rip a new ass in someone at the honda dealership first thing in the morning, they better give me a new car, ---- this piece of ----, its supposed to be a honda and it needs 2 warrenty claims in the first week? did hondas reliability decrease recently and i didnt here about it? im so pissed i wanna un hook the wastegate on my crx and drive the piss out of it untill it blows up, then i could have $40,000 of worthless garbage courtesy of HONDA......

whoa calm down buddy that attitude isn't gonna get you far, i'm sure they will fix whatever is wrong if you are pleasant for no charge whatsoever. Reason with them politely and you might even get a new replacement.

sounds like at some point the rotors got warped on that car. It can happen pretty quick if someone took a super aggressive test drive, and you won't always notice it unless you get on the brakes pretty hard. Also, before you go freaking out on your dealer, make sure that the ATF leak isn't something simple, like the dipstick not pushed in all the way or a loose inspection plug. If your car was new then the dealer has to check all the fluids before you take delivery (PDI)...the tech may have left one of the plugs loose or something. If they got the car from another dealer, they still have to check them and again, may have left something loose, or maybe even spilled a little while topping it off. Just remember, your dealer's service department will be 1000% on your side if you approach them calmly instead of, "fix my ----, bitches or else I'm gonna ---- all you muthafuckers up and sue your mamas and i want a new car right now." Remember, Hondas are still machines that can break, typically they don't under normal use, but that's what warranty is for. Get your salesperson involved, they will usually be your mouthpiece to the service department and the store's management.

I sell Hondas for a living and trust me on this...if your dealer is following the protocols outlined by Honda you will get taken care of as long as the issues are not caused by the customer (accidents, abuse, etc..).

In short, my advice is to communicate with the selling deale r& your salesperson, and you will most likely get everything taken care of with no problems.

Its not their fault you happen to get a bad apple. Just go in there and be nice, tell them whats wrong and express your concern on the automatic trans, ask for a free extended warranty on the trans only or something.

Your suprised by a bad Honda automatic trans?? Their automatics are almost as bad as Fords. but nevertheless still should not be broken with less than 300 miles. I would be pissed too.

Hondas have had lots of recalls...

Recalls are actually good for car companies. They do recalls when sales are low to pick them up...no ----. Supposedly people get all scared of their cars, trade them in and buy new cars.

i dont understand the whole be nice thing. the tech doing the work should have checked everything b4 it went out and yes they are human and make mistakes but thats why they have supervisors to catch ---- like that. id be real mad and id let them know it. ---- id take it as far as telling them i dont want it anymore and i will take my money somewhere else. that will get you a new car. and its a new car you should be able to beat on it. raise hell >:D

that sucks. you just happen to get one of the factory defect ones. dont worry Honda will take care of you. just bring it in there and tell them what happen and they fix it for freee. dont go in there yelling and screaming all pissed off. cause all they're going to do then is have security walk you out.

from my understanding a honda transaxle auto tranny has a band that grabs and releases when youre holding th ebreak at idle? therefor wearing them out and making them shitty? as opposed to other trannies like the powerglide and turbo 350 and hydroamatic 400?
