well coming home from orientation at whole foods, ( which is my new job btw ) i was in a car accident. i was in my lane trying to switch to the faster lanes, when i see a big ass puck up truck on my right almost rear end a car on my right. i swerve to avoid him. he loses controle, spins out, im over two lanes to the left, he jumps across the lanes and hits me and lands perpendicular to the road. comes to a complete stop, and takes off liek a bat out of hell. while im avoiding this, two other cars hit each other to avoid hitting me.

no ones hurt, otehr than my pride and joy.



as any of you know, i love my car. but this gives me the opertunity to fix it up better than new. its gonna take allot of sweat and allof of cursing but i will get it done.

It sucks man, but it happens. Some old lady rearended me last friday...pushed the whole back end of the car in. I sat out there with a hammer and a torch the entire holiday weekend getting it back out to where it was and repainting it. I was gonna have her insurance pay for it, but the insurance company said they wanted to total it cause the damage was 75% of the car's value. Screw that :P

yeah it sucks. im seeing wht i can do asfar as fixing it to look the best i can make it. the worst part is that its on a door jam, so i cant just get new panels or a door and all would be dandy. ill see how leet my bondo skills are after im dizzle.

slo_crx1... you should have just totaled the car and then bought it back... usually insurance companies will total a car and then give you the option to buy it back at a very low price. you would have still had your car and some money in your pocket. Correct me if i'm wrong but i have seent a couple of situations like this.

kain, i am so sorry to hear about the wreck. :'( for an old car, yours was in really good shape. unfortunately though, i'm gonna have to agree with frank and say see how much the insurance would be willing to give you. if it's decent, total it. that way you won't have to spend all the money in your pocket to get it fixed. you could buy it back cheap, fix the majority of it yourself, then take it somewhere to get her fixed up real nice and the labor won't be as much since you did most of it yourself. ya know? then it's time to paint it that green color i showed you ;)

anyways, good luck with the 7 hun. hope everything turns out, and glad you are not hurt. :)

mary. thats all i have to say.

lol well looking at it now, it seems mzda designed the door jams with a convenient self crumple zone so that it should be easy to fix. the fucked up thing is, i have to dukes of hazord my damn car cus the damn doors on both sides dont open cleanly anymore. the door opperates 100% correctly and the windows go down and it locks and unlocks and the door opens and closes fine. the thing is its got a crease down the whole dise of it. rather than ---- with the curviture of the door and try to use that to re align the body to that, i have decided to use a donor door. the rear quarter pael will then be cut out, and i will pop wivet a piece of sheet metal to the contour of it so that i willl do as little sheet metal as possible.

what color did you say you wanted me to paint it again mary?

no. rx7 is way way way way way more flexible as a platform./ you cant mess with near 50/50 weight distribution. hell, the only thing i would get other than an rx7 would be a starion.

Glad youre ok buddy, honestly the damage dosnt seem bad at all, go to the wreckers and get a new door, then either weld in a new 1/4 pannel or just fix that one. then make sure the frame is straight and call it a day.
