front crossmember crx

just giving some insinght on my current project.
88-91 crx front crossmember made from 1" and 1/2" steel pipe, this will be a race only setup as it mounts the stock strut bars solid in place hopefuly eliminating wheel hop.
I only have the basic shape welded up now butit should be done in a few weeks. maybe jeff will get some pics posted so everyone can see.

Re:front crossmember crx

so you're not even using rod ends on your race version? I am going to be making a streetable version real soon, that uses rod ends on the stock rods. if I get it worked out well enough, I've thought about building a few for other people. we'll see how it goes though. wont' have time to play with it until after xmas. I also may try to make a tubular xmember for the rear of my wagon, to reduce weight a little more. the one in the rear now is pretty heavy.

BLACKSI 12-15-2002 12:50 PM

Re:front crossmember crx

right now im not sure what im going to do, rod ends or not

Re:front crossmember crx

update i orederd some 8900lbs rod end links the x member is finished basicly just need to make some new strut rods and weld some brackets onto the x member and it will be done. turbohf will be prototyping this one so when he takes ownership of it maybe he will post some pics.
