Free legitimate Microsoft software...
Hey, didn't know if any of you would be interested in this, but I figured I would let you know just in case.
Apparently if you sign up for their usage collection program and do a few surveys every now and then, they will send you your choice of Windows Vista Ultimate, Office 2007, Money, or Encarta and Maps after 3 months of being in the program. To sign up go here: http://wfp.microsoft.com/ I know you can already get all this stuff for free from bittorrent, but I wouldn't mind having a free real copy of the software so I don't have to bother with cracking and patching the software and will have no problems getting updates. |
Re: Free legitimate Microsoft software...
If only I could get a legit copy of Windows XP I'd do it.

Office 2007 is kickass, I just don't use it too much and would rather have a legitimate operating system. |
Re: Free legitimate Microsoft software...
Office 2007 does rock. I have it here on my XP. The office isnt legit. And I'm not sure if the XP is either since I bought the computer with it on it. haha

Re: Free legitimate Microsoft software...
Nice find man! I ran ubuntu for a little bit.. Very nice, easy to use linux os. Probably the best for any n00b who wants to get into it.. All of a sudden I was running into dual boot problems and just got frustrated so I trashed the linux.. As far as vista,,, the longer you take to use it, the better!! Push it off for a few more months jorsher ;)

Says the automated feedback will gather information on it's own in the background. Think it will somehow check for the wga hack?

Re: Free legitimate Microsoft software...
this offer is no longer available.
MS used up all of the "while supplies last" inventory. do not sign up for this because you will get nothing. |

Yup this deal is over. Back to bittorrent everyone else.

Re: Free legitimate Microsoft software...
Google and Isohunt Team Paradox regarding Vista crack. Eumlates these blanket licenses M$ gives to hp, asus, etc for their mass produced systems. Been running Ultimate for free over the last couple months. Takes all the updates and nobody's knocking on my door. It's really buggy just in that it's such a resource hog that unless I had hardcore cpu, ram, and v-card it's not really worth it. I try to run three or four fairly decent progs and it hangs something awful. I've been considering ubuntu. Thought of going back to 2K pro/linux dual boot for old times sake.

I'm sure xp supports multicore procs, works server has a quad core. It uses NT, but xp is built around th NT kernal, right? Going intel q6600 next, looks pretty darn overclockable, especially with g0 stepping. The one with b3 (?) stepping was easily oc'ed from 2.4ghz to 3348ghz on a intel chipset with minimal cooling upgrades and voltage increases. |
