North Korea launched a long-range missile Wednesday that may be capable of reaching the United States but it failed after 35 or 40 seconds, two State Department officials said.
The missile was one of at least three that were fired. The two others were short-range missiles. All landed in the Sea of Japan, said the Japanese government, which was unable to confirm that they included a long-range missile.
The officials in Washington, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the long-range missile was the Taepodong-2, North Korea's most advanced missile with a range of up to 9,320 miles.
The launch came after weeks of speculation that the North was preparing to test its advanced Taepodong-2 missile from a site on its northeast coast. The preparations had generated stern warnings from the United States and Japan, which had threatened possible economic sanctions in response.
The Sea of Japan lies between Japan and the Korean Peninsula.
"North Korea has gone ahead with the launch despite international protest," Chief Cabinet Secretary Shinzo Abe said. "That is regrettable from the standpoint of Japan's security, the stability of international society, and non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction."

they dont say where they were aimed at.. but they were just test fired.. and the long range one that can reach the us apparently failed.. but maybe the experiment was just to see if they could get it off the ground.. so who knows..
we know they test fired it ccause we prolly got every single radar in the area tracking for missles and unidentified aircraft 24/7 :1
this happend at 2am.. its still not set.. so we dont even know..
first article said it was 2 scuds.. now this article says it was 2 scuds and one of the prototype missles.. so well all know wtf really happend in a matter of time..
and in the news a couple weeks ago they said the so called us missle defense grid is worthless..
i.e. all they would have to do is launch a bunch of duds with the real payload carrying missles and one or two will get through..
we havee every single satalite fixed on the country.. we track any type of military gatherings.. but who knows.. they could easilly conceal that ---- in warehouses
luckilly i dont live on the west coast anymore.
cant say well miss the nw crew :1

and who knows wtf the test was for? its a long range missle that carries enough fuel to reach the entire west coast and alaska.. maybe they launched the missle.. saw it took off. and it was going towards its target.. all systems clear.. so they didnt need anymore testing and just bailed on the test.
or maybe they failed miserably.. no one knows..
and ---- all its gonna take is one trigger happy ---- to set the wheels of world war 3 into motion
i dont think north korea is going to make empty threats like we did
