Re:Flywheel

Depends, for N/A or for turbo?
For N/A I would say yes, the lighter the flywheel, the faster your able to rev, therfore the more power. As for a turbo aplication, I've herd many people say that there bad for turbo, the driving condition of the car is drastictly altered, assuming we are speeking of a street car.

Fidanza and ACT are the only ones I know of, I'm sure there are more out there, just do a search, BTW for what car and what motor?

Re:Flywheel

Dont invest in it if you plan on going turbo, save the money and use it to buy turbo components. You can expect to pay no less than 200 dollars from a reputeable dealer, with that you can buy a good used turbo.

Re:Flywheel

ive heard that aftermarket flywheels are a bad way to go. because they warp real easy.
not 100% sure on it. thats just what a guy told me at some tranny shop.

Just have it shaved.Im having them shave 4lbs off on mine when they resurface it.If you ever have it done make shure they resurface it and shave it so it will be balanced. Its only going to be $65 bucks.Ive heard the advantages on a turbo car is faster spooling.I guess Ill find out soon 8)

i have a 12lb act on mine ;its supposed to help wheel spin buy not storing alot of energy ;i was only spining threw first and most of second; only downfall i dont like is takeoff ;you have to rev a little higher;but i like it

i dunno aboutthat, since more load makes the turbo spool faster. that said, i have a 12.5 lb act, and it seems pretty good, takeoff takes a little getting used to though

Re:Flywheel

yeah sure, lightened flywheel=faster spool, but between shifts you're dropping revs alot faster then with a stock flywheel too. more mass=more momentum. If you even THINK about going turbo, do yourself a favor and keep the stock flywheel (don't shave it either like d16z64life ;D)
