I took out all the ac and blower stuff under my dash so now engine bay heat is blown in through the holes left in the fire wall, very nice out here in southern new mexico.

Re:floorboards are on fire

No it is acctually better for your car. First off it keeps the vilosity (sp) of you exhaust high and gives you more hp. Then it keeps your inside nice and cool. i have read this many places

Re:floorboards are on fire

If your that worried about it get some dynomat that is used for noise reduction and put it on the firewall. Garenteed to work. If you want to be cheap about it you can get some plexiglass and put it near the hotspots of the firewall.

Honda16hb 05-15-2004 01:12 AM

Re:floorboards are on fire

I'll have to try that ---- out, thanks skydiver jd, do you know where I can get it for cheap?

JD 05-15-2004 01:16 AM

Re:floorboards are on fire

if you want it real cheap you can go to lowes and get the same thing (without the logos) for really cheap. It's the same thing used for insulation in thin walls. It's about a cm thick and basically has insulation in between 2 layers of silvery reflective stuff. If you cant find it you can buy a dynomax trunk kit off ebay for like 30 bucks.

Honda16hb 05-15-2004 01:18 AM

Re:floorboards are on fire

ya, I seen that silver ---- before, but isn't dynamat flexible?

JD 05-15-2004 01:26 AM

Re:floorboards are on fire

the stuff I'm talking about is the stuff used in factories in the chimneys. Some lowes have some dont. Another thing I just thought of is this stuff I used on my firewall whe I changed my carpet. You can buy it at walmart or Advanced auto and its called rubberized spray. Now that ---- worked good as hell. Only problem is that each coat takes an hour or 2 to dry. It's in a spray can bottle and is about 2 bucks a can. You'll probably need 5 cans to do the jobe right. When I changed the carpet and spripped the car down I sprayed the whole interior down whith 5 coats (12 cans or so) and that stuff worked great. It;s just like spray paint except when it dries it gets poofy and rubbery. Another thing that would be easy would be leak stop (you know that foam ----). Would be easier and less time consuming. Damn thats a long post.

Honda16hb 05-15-2004 01:29 AM

Re:floorboards are on fire

I don't want that foamy crap in my car, and I don't want to be sprayin and waitin, so I'll try to find your chimney ---- and see how that goes.

Re:floorboards are on fire

that ---- costs more than I thought, but I'm a cheapass. I'll have to check lowes and home depot sunday, I have work all day tomarrow, stupid graduation and people wanting to eat at my restaraunt, what assholes.

JD 05-15-2004 01:45 AM

Re:floorboards are on fire

Re:floorboards are on fire

everybody always asks me where I work, Cattleman's steakhouse up on the hill, on highway 70, but you don't live here, so you wouldn't know my struggle. this place could win an award for most unprofessional. my step mom's parents own it, my step mom runs it for the most part, we have our family running around in there all the time, it's stupid how unprofessional the place is.

JD 05-15-2004 01:53 AM

Re:floorboards are on fire

I was just wondering because I work for outback steakhouse. Seems like every fucker I meet nowadays works or knows someone that works there.

Honda16hb 05-15-2004 02:01 AM

Re:floorboards are on fire

no, outback can kiss my ass, is it hard there? most days I get to watch alot of tv, and lucky for me cops is usually on when I'm at work, it's a good show. but sometimes it's all busy as ---- and since we aren't usually busy we don't have the staff to handle the busy days since everyone quits because working there isn't paying the bills. sometimes boring sometimes stressful, this is my life.

JD 05-15-2004 02:19 AM

Re:floorboards are on fire

every single night we are on a wit until 9 or so. It's good money and funny ---- to see people break down. I think that is the only reason I'm still there. Easy money is the real reason I still work here though. 100 a night buys a lot of engin upgrades ;D

They merged those messaging services a while ago, so people on aim can talk to people on ICQ. Check into it.

Who the hell uses ICQ anyways.. people from europe.
