Default flat black

How many cans do you think i would need to paint an accord flat black? do you think it would be better to just buy a gun, and a air compressor and a gallon of primer, i know a gallon of primer is like 30 buckcs, and that would be more than enough.

between 4-5 cans per coat. I used one can for the right side of my car, one can for the left, one can for the hood one can for my bumber, and one can for my bumbers and trunk. You need atleast 2 coats, although I'd go with 3 or even four. sand the car to about 220 atleast before you paint it, and go with really ------- thin coats. otheriwse you'll get tiger stripes.

i was thinking primer becausae i will probably paint this car in the next couple months, just a maaco job before i sell it,

with the primer i could at least sand it and prep it, then they can just seal it an paint.

not sure what im going to do at this point. I wish they made a dark blue primer

Isnt primer pourus(sp?), meaning it absorbs water, causing rust? I would get primer/sealer, or just paint it with flat black paint instead of primer.

The problem with painting a car in any 'cheap' was is that you have to sand it all off again to paint it the right way, espcially if you use spray paint.

It took me 7 cans of primer and 9 cans of flatblack to paint my 91 Civic HB. I didn't know my stepdad had a paint gun or I would have just went that way.
