You should do that pic a little bit differently shorty.. it can be confusing, plus it should be turned around so its in the normal direction, not upside down. Put more of a angle on it too..

what kind/grade of steel is recomended to make adapter flanges? where can i get some?

Any mild steel should do just fine.. Where? any local steel yard that carries bulk steel.
