Fixing a P.O.S. Radiator
 

Ok i know honda makes some shitty ass radiators and well mine decided to take a piss... well actually its leaking fluid from the bottom end where the core and the end tank meet. Other than that stupid leak, the radiator is fine. But I need to fix it and i dont just want to slap a bunch of JB weld and pretend it wont leak anymore.

Well what i plan on doing is taking the bottom tank off and putting some urethane gasket sealing crap on the gasket, and putting it back together hopefully this will stop the leak. Right now it doesnt leak much but its enough to make me paranoid about it.

So if anyone has tried this before or seen it done or knows how to fix it let me know.

i used JB Weld on a radiator (brass i think) and it lasted like 6-10months maybe longer i sold the car. i have JB Weld on the current rad in my car (plastic end tanks). think it will hold up fine...

Urethan takes to long to dry up.

for my turbo project on the 89 civic i used a rad from an 87 cuz i needed room for the 1G DSM intercooler, well the pipe fitting on the bottom never came on an angle like the 89 rad does, so i bent it and broke the brass, lol, i had about a one inch crack in it, lol, well ne ways i solder'd it up then put about 3mm of JB weld on it, its still holding up with no leaks. one thing to bemeber when using JB weld, sand around the surface with a really heavy sand paper, so you create scratches and the JB wels will stick to the item better, also, (JB weld Quick) is better then the regular stuff, it holds better from what i noticed and it dries in about 30 minutes, i had the radin and the car running 1 hous after i applied the JB weld, and it held up.

so i see JB weld does hold up pretty good then. I did put a little bit on it 3 days ago, but when i run it pretty hard it starts to leak afterwards. but its only one side of the radiator.. ill try patching it up and hope that it holds.
