first time at track ever
hey guys,
I went to the track last night, first run was 15.1 at 93. best of the night was a 14.5 at 93 my r/t's sucked pretty much till the last run i got a .08 r/t ill post the time slips later have to give all the credit to you guys, first time out and im pretty happy with it, with some practice i think i can get down to a 14.2 my highest trap was a 95.9 with a 14.6 et. setup: 14b pushin 10psi afc hack w/ dsm 450's 2.5 dp to obx cat to 2.25 exhaust jrc 5" IC Kuhmo ecesta *sp 16 inch tires on kosei k-1 rims stock clutch stock flywheel it was gettin really hot at the end, have the stock radiator i did 3 runs, then i let it sit, did a run let it sit 5 10 mins, did a run. that about normal? thinkin about getting a bigger radiator. thanks again guys, comments opinions appreciated. |
Re: first time at track ever
here are the slips. 2 best runs.
r/t -------------.3690 60' ------------ 2.3669 et @ 594ft----- 8.9259 1/8 et----------9.4950 1/8 mph-------79.07 1/4 et----------14.5650 1/4 mph-------93.97 r/t -------------.0829 60' ------------ 2.3772 et @ 594ft----- 8.9972 1/8 et----------9.5711 1/8 mph-------78.40 1/4 et----------14.6161 1/4 mph-------95.92 comments and suggestions would be welcomed the best run felt like i spun the tires through first, but i got my best 60' and best overall time but lower mph. its hard to tell if the tires are spinning or they're like actually getting traction sometimes...i dunno weird lol thanks for all your guys help. |
Re: first time at track ever
not bad at all
your 60' needs practice but at least they are consistant. what engine is this on?? |
Re: first time at track ever
I'm no expert, but math wise if you cut your 60s down to 2.0 flat and the reaction time you nail, you'd dip 13s. Nice job though for the first time. Nothing to be ashamed of at all. I would say to get a bigger exhaust. 2 1/4 is tight for a turbo. Nice though, very well done. Congrats. ;) ;D

Re: first time at track ever
yeah what motor is this on????? very nice time's I think(don't know what motor the 10psi is on?)
|
Re: first time at track ever
oh sorry thanks for the replies, its on a stock d16y8

Re: first time at track ever
Not bad. You should be getting a bit more MPH (probably in the 96-99 range pretty easy)
But definetly not bad for your first time out. |

Re: first time at track ever
I'm having issues with my 60ft too, maybe its cause I bascally had no motors mounts, oh well I fixed that, but good times
|
Re: first time at track ever
samson, your a ------- dumbass, and you pretend to know stuff, it makes me laugh, secondly running a 15 sec pass, on 10 psi tells me you are a terrible driver, or your car is fucked up. i could cut a faster time in my moms stock saturn sl2.

Re: first time at track ever
It was his first time^ plus he is using an safc and could of had poor track conditions, but 14.5 was his other time and that is very respectable
|
Re: first time at track ever
14.5 is b16a in a crx territory. that is a lame ass time for a turbo civic. 14.5 is damn slow.
|
Re: first time at track ever
but what kind of car is it in? the weight has alot to do with the time as well.
|
Re: first time at track ever
If it's a stock y8 probably just in the 6th gen Civic Coupe Ex.
Hey, like I said I didn't know seemed plausible to me to take from one and add to the other. Hotrex, not everyone can have a GSR to turbo at 4psi "that kicks" and have plently more power at 66% throttle. Just lay off. JP |

Re: first time at track ever
Those times are pretty high but just practice launching and getting those times down. Maybe get a bigger turbo, and go uber. ;)

Re: first time at track ever
samson, at least i dont have daves nutsack in my mouth.
or my dads cock in my ass as i post. that gsr at 4 psi did "kick" and at 11-12 it "kicked" youll never know what that kind of power feels like. so end yourself. |
Re: first time at track ever
i bet your clutch slips and you dont even know it. get a 6 puck and the times will drop
|
Re: first time at track ever
i don't think a 14.5 is bad at all for the set-up if it is in a 96+ coupe. those are some heavy cars i know i have one. but it was his first time at the track and once he gets his 60 down and uber/crome he should be in the high 13-low 14 range.

Re: first time at track ever
ya its in a 6th gen coupe, thanks for all the replies guys.

I like my car the way it is thank you. Don't be mad that because I'm nice to people they help me. Just be a nice guy. Or atleast try. Deep down, you love me. :-* ::) JP |
