Welcome.By that comment I can tell your a definite DSM guy.A properly tuned D engine with stock internals can run 10-11psi all day long.Hell I had my wastegate set at 12 but would only hit that a couple of times and that was only on the AFC 1/2 *** tune.

That 14b is fine if you want "off the line" boost but like Kyle said most people use a .42/48. T3 off of a Saab or a Volvo on a D.Mine was at full boost at 3500 rpm and held till redline @ 10psi.

Good luck.

very possible to be done. theres a guy i know that put a stock motor and a 14b into 11's, i think he has the track record up here. When he wants, its alot fastert than that tho.

But anyways, i would say if u have the 14b already, just use it. once its all up and running good, he can go bigger and better.

i can get a turbo from a probe gt? would it be better spool for his 1.6sohc? the 14b has alot! of shaft play so i kinda rather go for the probe gt turbo. anyways i remember my t25 on my civic didnt spool till like 4500 also have u guys heard of the civic that has the 4g63t (eclipse engine)its running i think low 12s stock!

^ I highly doubt that.

Ford Probe turbo would have a very quick spool but not much top end power, I don't believe.

hey welcome to the site. I'm just getting back into it again myself because i sold my car and got a 4 door Accord V6 but hopefully at the auction tomorrow i'll be on my way to a new turbo project. My advise is to just research somemore.
A turbo project is not something you do last minute research on. Try writing down what you hope to getout of your project... power, daily drivablity, stuff like that and it should help eliminate some questions and answer others faster.
good luck and hope to see you around the boards

do u think the probe turbo would get a faster spool than the 14b? also why do u need top end i mean 6-8 psi till redline can be done with about any turbo out there i think. The 14b will hold up to 20 with the right mods. Yeah im gonna get a new honda and turbo it but this one is for a buddy thot i would help him out with his slow 00 auto ex 4 door what do u guys think he will pull in the quarter?? set at 8 psi intercooler! no fuel mods

psi is not cfm.cfm is what will keep the turbo from doing more than just blowing hot air and choking the engine at high rpms.
