fire jackets for 2007
fire jackets are need for all turbo'd, supercharged, and nitrous vehicles as of jan. 2007?
Also snell 95 helmets are no good either. 2000 and up. |

Stock/Super Stock Protective Clothing Beginning in 2007 for all competitors in Stock classes A/S through M/S, A/SA through M/SA, and in any vehicle running 11.49 or quicker, a jacket meeting SFI Spec 3.2A/1 is mandatory. In Super Stock, the SFI Spec 3.2A/1 jacket is mandatory in SS/J through SS/P, SS/JA through SS/PA, and in any vehicle through Super Stock running 10.00 to 11.49 seconds. A jacket meeting SFI Spec 3.2A/5 is mandatory in Super Stock classes SS/A through SS/I, SS/AH through SS/IA, and in any vehicle running 9.99 or quicker throughout Super Stock. |

I believe its only nhra tracks requiring the fire jacket thang for cars that are turbo that didnt come stock with them
LACR requires 2 lug nuts, a tall can for a fuel tank and to smoke tumbleweed |

LACR requires 2 lug nuts, a tall can for a fuel tank and to smoke tumbleweed You're right. I was a little concerned about this last year, but my track is an IHRA. It's only for NHRA and at that I'm not sure if (like stated above) is for only <12second turbo cars, but I thought it were all. :-\

I didn't bring a helmet and the tech didn't say anything then the older guy came over and asked where my helmet was. "I don't need one, it's not that fast." He was telling the kid not to underestimate a turbo Honda. ::) I told him I doubt I'd get into 13s that night and he said it was fine unless I started putting passes in the 13.4 area consistently. I didn't hit 13s, haha. JP |

a couple guys got turned away this last year for running nitrous and not having a fire jacket...anyone know about that at all???

last year, everytime I got my car tech'd, the refs kept reminding me that I needed a jacket. who knows. It's probably NHRA tracks

I got worried so I bought a jacket i think it was like $50 off of summit, not to bad of a price and now I look cool when i try to pick up chics :8
