I have been reading up on doing this when the stealth shuttle is ready. Here's another link to add.

http://www.paintucation.com/

along with the bugshop link and the autobody101.

So how did you pick the brand of paint/primer/ect...... I see so many different brands/grades that it's hard to tell what market you're in.

prep work is a boner, its so easy to convince yourself "ahh that will never show through..." but in the end you end up realizing all the time was worth it. Cant say enough good things about how the paint job turned out!!!

I hear those videos are pretty damn good, the shop I went to was pretty good in helping me in deciding what's good. Some shops only carry certain brands but I went with a Basf diamont paint/2k primer.

yeah you'd be amazed, I've learned that if you can feel it then you'll see it in the end product

when i had my car painted a few months ago i paid a guy $500 for a little body work and to spray it, then about $600 for a gallon of paint, clear, reducer, hardener, a few rolls of tape and a bottle of crytal blue pearl. kinda shitty because the pearl supposedly wouldn't show up on the silver so he gave me the $125 for it and kept it. that was cool with me because i had taken enough to fill a large pill bottle out befor ei gave it too him for my next project .

if you dont want to sand it with 1200 grit sand paper you can uusee 2m 5954 rubbing compound and it will do the trick. then you need to polish it with 3m 5937 finishing. after that some meguiars number 7 show car glaze
