Re:Finally went to the doctor
That sucks dude, sore throats are the worst. Last time I was at the doctor I sat there for like 10 or 15 minutes after he left until some nurse walked by and was like "oh you can leave now" I was like WTF why didn't the damn doctor tell me that.

Re:Finally went to the doctor
well it sucks that all he did was gimme ------ Allegra, i'm to the point where if i cough i can't stop coughing and puke, it's gay
|
Re:Finally went to the doctor
Allegra is not for bronchitis. Allegra is for allergies. I have chronic bronchitis or so they say. I don't get it all the time like I used but you need an antibiotic. They need to give you Zithromax,Ceclor,Irithromiacin, or Cipro. If you really have bronchitis your doctor sucks. Did he even listen you your chest and make you breathe?

Re:Finally went to the doctor
bronchitis is serious ---- it can lead to some really bad health. Anytime my throat hurts or I start to get a light cough vaporizer and vapor rub that moment. Havent gone to the hospital in 4 years since I started doin that

Re:Finally went to the doctor
Try having a cyst in your leg......
When I was back in WSU and actually had some kind of health insurance I developed a small cyst in my mid thigh, about the size of a wart.I went in to the doctor, and after the usuall three hour wait he prods it asks if it hurts then proudly proclaims its not cancerous. Then walks out. I grabbed him as he walked out and I blurted out "But I want it CUT OUT!" He shakes his head ands says, "as long as it doesnt get any bigger I dont see any problem with letting it stay where it is." Three years latter it is twice as big, and I have no insurance, cutting it out is just too much money, and it freaks my girl out. I could have taken it out then but I thought "well the doctor knows best" what a fag. Oh I have other stories too...Like the time my throat had swollen shut due to infection, I hadden eaten in a week and I went to the hospital to get an IV because I was REALLY hungry, and really weak.....I couldnt talk much...and the doctor just handed me a bottle of Codine and sent me home. If I ever see him again I WILL STOMP HIM INTO THE PAVEMENT AND STAB A FLAMMING POKER DOWN HIS THROAT AND THEN GIVE HIM A BOTTLE OF ------- CODINE. Sorry Doctors are like freaking lawyers to me....worthless meatbags, the only good ones are ones you cant afford, and the only ones on your Insurance plan are memebers of a freaking Lepper Colony |
Re:Finally went to the doctor
our health system is way better that what you guys have discribed, sure there is waiting time at some big hospitals, but if you go where your are supposed to go, there's no wait. I've always had great experiences when I go to the doctor.

Re:Finally went to the doctor
I dont blame our "Health Care System".....which is non-existant btw.
I blame the fact that a few insurance companies hold us all by the friggen balls. Doctors get paid by the 5-6 health insurance companies around here. and their is no competition. An insurance company forces you to see a certain list of doctors, and doctors are garanteed pay by the companies.... That gives you an overpriced imbecile that is controled by an even larger group of imbeciles worried about turning a large profit. The TRUE American (ie an OPEN MARKET) way would give you an open choice, and allow competition between both doctors and insurance plans. Competing doctors would lower rates/increase service, or be looking for anouther job. but as it stands now, a doctor gets paid whatever XXX provider has agreed upon whether he helps you or not.... That is actually more socialist then the Canadian plans...which just do away with insurance plans all together What really chaps my hide and gets me fired up are the Damn Striking nurses in WA state...striking because Group Health (Health Bene provider) wanted to up the CoPay plan a bit and add 100$ a month for insurance. They Bitched like hell and had a strike about that, and in the end now they pay 20$ for a doctor visit and such ...and the cost is passed on to private holders like my father...who would have to pay 400$ a month for $1000 deductable insurance that is worth nothing, and have to pay over 100$ just to see a freaking doctor that doesnt give a piss because he gets a check no mater what TO ALL THOSE NURSES EAT ---- AND DIE Open your freaking eyes and pull your selfish heads out of your ass |

Re:Finally went to the doctor
Wow quite a few of you have had bad experiences with the doctor I see.
Anyhow, my advice to the original poster 351wstanggt is if you feel that your family doctor did not do a thorough enough job then go to another doctor for a second opinion. You could coughing for numerous reasons but serious complications can arise from your bronchitis. Last thing you want to happen is to develop pneumonia and end up staying in the hospital for a week, which will cost you anywhere from $3500-5000 per day. You may have allergies but if you know its not allergies try another doctor. Chances are you probably just have a viral infection of your large airways. Antibiotics such as Ciprofloxacin, Erythromycin, Amoxicillin, Penicillin, etc. wont do crap for you. Antibiotics are only good for bacteria infections. Viral infections, in general, will just takes its course whether it be 1 week or a few weeks. What you have to do is mostly just treat the symptoms such as your coughing or post-tussive emesis (aka coughing so much that you puke). Try some cough syrup or Nyquil to help you sleep better at night and live better during the day. I can't over-emphasize the importance to get a second opinion if you feel that your doctor has not done a thorough job examining you. A chest x-ray never hurts and is only $50-75. I'm not even going to enter the realm of discussing the non-existant health care system in the United States let alone the managed care companies that run the show and swallow the profit. In my opinion, most (not all) doctors work pretty damn hard for their money... but thats my opinion. |
