Finally...some TRACK times! 14.6@93

Well today was the opening day for mid-michigan motorplex. So I was finally able to get some track times.

I made all of the runs at 5 psi occasionally hitting 6 between some shifts. Well here are the slips:

http://groups.msn.com/_Secure/0RADfA...66715002027760

I had the oppertunity to run with two different WRX's.... The first one beat me as I expected but not by much. She was leading me a little the whole track up until the end where she pulled better at the 70mph mark or so. As for the WRX that I beat, I'm not sure what he did, must have missed a shift or something but it was still fun seeing him back a lil ways as I made my way to the finish line.

Some weather for the day :
37 deg F
UV Index: 0 Minimal
Dew Point: 9°F
Humidity: 30%
Visibility: 10.0 miles
Pressure: 30.02 inches and steady
Wind: From the North Northwest at 15 gusting to 28 mph

The wind was strong and was basically blowing against me i could feel some strong drifts at points, not sure if that affected the times or trap speeds any but who knows. All in all it was a great time I'll be back there again on wednesday.

Nice times. Are you planning on cranking the boost up anymore? That ain't ---- for boost. That car has alot more potential. :)

Yeah, what car ran the 10? :o

The car that ran the 10 was an older camaro I beleive, cant recall. All I knew was that I would loose, I was hoping to run a grand am GT that run but he ended up being the one next to me.

That car was bad ass.... I had no ------ chance, couldnt even hear my car and the rumble of his blown big block ruptured my spine :)

As for the boost, I'm working on cranking it up but my stock fuel system is limiting me right now. I have most the parts I need and hopefully I'll get the rest before easter weekend here and I'll install it and go back... with 10 psi :)

Maybe it's no big deal to everyone else but those times were really ------- consistant. Good job man. I guess that means your setup is very reliable/you're a good driver/both. :)

So how did the WRX get such high R/Ts? 1.2 seconds seems like a long time..

That has nothing to do with the car. Driver error.

Will,

The setup is tuned and reliable.... and the car is an automatic so the times are very consistant.

Abaz,

I can cope with that...too bad you live so far running anyone is always fun.

I have to say I had the most fun running the two different wrx's.... Felt good to be able to compete with them decently. The girl driving the one that beat me looked over at about the 1/8 mark...she seemed pretty suprised that I was right there with her.

Anyways I need to up the boost soon! This 5-6 psi ---- aint cuttin it :)

I'm looking to break a 13.9 on 10 psi... I think its possible we will see.

I gotta agree with GT here, wrx's are slow. My cousin has an 04 wrx and I bashed on it (i've driven it before but really cautiously since it was being broken in) and it was SLOW. I was very dissappointed. After full boost it was okay (2.8k ish), but second gear blows ass. Lauching sucks, the only way to get a descent lauch without the turbo lag is to ride the clutch. It is a fun car, but by no means a race car. By the way if you guys are bored enough, check out wrxlinks.com, they seriously think the WRX is one of the fastest cars on the market. Lame asses.

Oh and sorry to get off topic here AirtRonics (I know no R :P), but none the less good stuff man, update us on some 10psi runs, and if I may say, a chick wrx racer=sexy.

---- son, whats your altitude?

airtonics 04-05-2004 07:25 AM

Re:Finally...some TRACK times! 14.6@93

Its not listed on the tracks homepage but I found someone who posted their times with the altitude... they said 688ft which is probably about right.

Accorddepicenter,

Nope the new fuel pump isnt in yet. I as was actually going with a sub injector set-up instead... looks like I might be gettin ripped off about $300 in parts, if thats the case its not going to happen :( This guy better pull through and at least ship late like hotchecks or I'm going to be pissed. I think he's in las vegas for those who want to make a road trip lol.

If I dont have the parts this weekend I'll put on the new fuel pump.... see how that goes and try to up the boost to 8 - 10 psi after some tuning.

Thanks for the props....13's are commin oh they are commin :)
